    Hi Guys,

Bit the bullet and placed an order for P650HS-G yesterday with Metabox/Affordable Laptops in AU. This will be used in Sri Lanka where the ambient temp during day time is about 28-30c.

I was wondering if there's anyone who's using a cooling pad with this unit, what are the recommended ones and are they as effective as they say?

    Thanks in advance :)

I use a Deepcool Wind Pal with my P650RP6. You can get it from PCCG in Aus for $25 at the moment which makes it one of the cheapest as well. It fits pretty much perfectly on there.

    Thanks @Stooj .

How's the cooling performance? I read reviews saying the fans are in the middle and the air intakes for this laptop is towards the top edges which is not covered properly by this cooler.

I find it's still sufficient to get air up to the fans. The biggest benefit is simply getting space between the cooler and the laptop.

I mostly use mine without the fans even in summer but even then it's rarely over 30C ambient since you'd have to be utterly insane to attempt gaming in a 40C ambient environment regardless of cooler. Just the heat transfer through the palm rests would be unbearable.

    Copy that.
Yes I agree on the ambient temps. It haven't gone above 32C here yet ;)

I was looking at the Cooler Master Notepal U3 Plus as well. It looks good with the fan placement capabilities and I saw a youtube video where one guy had modded it use 2x Noctua NF-A14 fans.

The Notepal is an option and is a bit more generic.

I prefer the Windpal because it has a closed and somewhat smooth bottom side which means you can actually use it on your lap or as a rudimentary lapdesk thing.

Do you see appreciable drops in temperature with this on idle and on load?

I don't mind not dropping idle temps but if it can perform well under load and help the cpu fans push a lot of air out, i'd be happy.
