Hi there, I would like to receive suggestions from people who have tried the following cooling pads on 17 inch laptops:

    1. Cooler Master Notepal X2 (14.7" Width x 11.4" Depth x 1.6" Height)
    2. Cooler Master Notepal Infinite (15" Width x 1.97" Depth x 11.81" Height)

    This is my notebook:

    Width: 15.6"
    Length: 11.5"
    Height: 1.8"

Unfortunately, where I live a cannot get a Zalman or NZXT Cryo cooling pads, so I guess those are my only options. I would like the rubber fet of my laptop to sit perfectly on the pad. Any suggestions? (if anyone has pics of a 17" notebook on these cooler it would be great!)

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, I've got a Clevo M770CUH (17") and I am using the Coolermaster Notepal Color Infinite. It fits perfectly and the air from the internal fan circulates nicely. There is a usb port in the back to replace the one used by the cooling pad. It's got three fan settings too. I haven't tested it with software but it seems to work just fine. For some sample pictures see here. Sorry I only took some side views of the pad.

I used the Notepal Infinite for the longest time and it did a great job cooling my laptop. I had to retire it as the mini USB port that connects to the cooler from the laptop got bent and I had to do some bizarre calisthenics with the cable at a certain angle to the left to get the cooler to run, not to mention much adjustment.

If you're going to use it on a desk, get it with your eyes closed. If you're going to carry it to work and possibly have some overhelpful fellow try to help you pack up your laptop and possibly yank out the cable, be wary.
