it depends I think. Mine would always get hot so i bought one and it keeps my laptop cool. If your laptop does not get very hot then I would say no.

The best cooler with the most overall positive feedback is:
    - Zalman ZM-NC1000 or NC2000

    Other good and promising models:
    - Cryo LX
    - Cooler Master Infinite

yeah would help if you got a cooling pad. i'm using the zalman nc2000 and its great! keeps my lappy's temp slightly lower, and good when i blast my lappy's fan to the max.. should be a good investment for your lappy :)

Cooling pads are a worthwhile investment, particularly if you do a lot of gaming or 3D design that pushes your graphics card and CPU. Good ventilation on a system that generates a lot of heat is essential to giving it a long life. If you don't want to go with a cooling pad, consider elevating the laptop with a book to keep plenty of clearance for the vents.

Gophn, you always reccomend those 2 pads, but wich one is better? or what is the difference?

would the nc1000 suit the 8660 suit better as its a 15inch? or still would the nc2000 be better?

what is better, the zelmans, or the Cooler Master Infinite

The NC-2000 would be a good fit for widescreen 15.4'' notebooks. But it does cost more. The edges of the notebook will hang off the sides of the NC-1000, but it does the job well enough anyway.

The Infinite covers the top half of notebooks better than the Zalmans, it is also cheaper. But it is not all well build. 15.4'' widescreen notebooks fits pretty well on it though.

both the nc1000 and nc2000 would fit a 15" lappy, only that the nc2000 is larger and supports up to 20". but i've tried it on a 15" lappy and it works great so i guess it'd be good for you too. in case you upgrade lappy and still need a cooler, the nc2000 would still suffice.

as for zalman or cooler master, i chose zalman because lots of other users here has been using it and i think it's better for me.. where i am, the price of the coolermaster is HALF that of zalman.. go check both reviews if you need more 'pros & cons' to help you decide :)
