Details:As the title says, I need help looking for some cooling solutions for my NP6110. Aside from doing some programming and note taking for school, I do a lot of gaming on the go (BF3, EVE Online, and many more). I had a logitech cooling pad to get the laptop off my lap so it wouldn't burn me but the fan was toward the back where none of the vents were and didn't keep my laptop cool. I saw some forum posts where someone modded the cover but I would rather not have to do that kind of stuff (I like to keep my laptop pwetty =3).

Question: Which cooling pads would be recommended for a NP6110?

Looked at Zalman nc1000, 2000 and 3000. Also looked at Cooler Master U1 and U2. If there are any others that do a better job, I would love to know about it.

I use the Cooler Master U1. The fan's not that strong as it's for a netbook but just by propping the laptop up reduces the temperature by 4-5 degrees C on mine.

Don't know much about Zalman but I've seen people quite happy with the U2.

I have seen several forum members here recommending the cooler master U2 or U3 cooler. I think it might be a little big for your laptop, but one of the nice features with this sort of cooler is that you can mount the fans virtually anywhere on the pad. That would be my recommendation.

Well I have only seen pics of both brands of coolers and after searching online for "best of 2012," those two came up the most with one other logitech one that cost nearly $100. I was going to get a U1/U2 for the free fan placement feature until I thought about where I would put the fans. If I wanted to put the cooling fans where the vents are (front end for the most part) wouldn't the air flow be restricted if I put the cooling pad on my lap where there isn't much of an angle? Or would there be enough clearance?

You do have a good point there about setting it on your lap. I'm not sure if it would really work. Hopefully some of the other community members can shed a bit more light on the matter. :)
