XoticPC, they seem to have a good rep around the forum. Sales guy was very helpful, plus the 24/7 tech support will be nice.

According to Xotic, all the backorder mess was cleared up :D so you should probably see your laptop in 2-3 weeks' time.

9150, 7970, 3610, 8gb 1333mhz, 95% Gamut Matte Screen, 128 gb M4 SSD, and IC Diamond. (got an external 750 fb hard drive as well)

All in all $1750 (I wish Xotic had a better military discount though....)

I kinda regret not getting the 3720 processor though. I'm afraid it will become outdated before I get my full use out of my laptop. (hoping to get 3-4 years out of this laptop for heavy gaming, schooling, and a general everyday laptop)
Do y'all think I made a mistake on the processor? Or do you think 3.3 will be enough for the foreseeable future in gaming...

Do you plan on video encoding? running multiple vm's? if not, you are going to be bottlenecked by the gpu if the worst thing you do is gaming. you can even do cad and render in 3d in Maya too... although quadro would be recommended for those purposes

I agree, so few games are CPU bound. I just hope this thing can last a few years with the kind of heat output it will have. But from what I'm reading Sager / Clevo cooling is complete overkill, so we can all look forward to our still functioning laptops being obsolete in a few years.

Down the road you can always just throw in the ultra-overclocked high end Ivy Bridge CPU that will go for cheap once Haswell comes out. If you're even having CPU problems that is.
