Looks Like I will pull trigger on a NP9170 soon. I am sold on the performance increase with the 7970. However I am wondering if ir is worth the extra cash to go with 1600 ram vs 1333. On Xotic I can get double the ram and stay winthin my budget if I go with the slower ram. Will it really matter in general use and also gaming?
Second I am looking at the Intel N6235 wireless upgarde...is it really better than the standard wireless that Sager puts in?
I am coming from a HP envy with the 5850 that gets so hot I can cook eggs on the bottun when I game. Knowing the 7970 is not out I wonder about heat when it comes out. I hope it is cooler than my 5850.
Thanks for any input

Look at it like this. If you're using 4GB of RAM to do everything you working on, its better to have your RAM running at 1600mhz then it is 1333mhz. The reason is that extra RAM in your system isnt doing you any good if you're not using it, and out of the RAM you're are using its better to have faster.
The upgraded wireless cards do pick up weaker signals better and hold them better so depending on where an how you use your computer wireless it can be beneficial. They can also transfer up to 300mb/s vs 150mb/s on the stock card, which wont help internet speeds but will help transfer speeds within your network.
Sager's have really good cooling systems so overheating shouldn't be an issue, just make sure you clean it out from any accumulated dust at least every 6 months, preferably more frequently. -
RIght now Im using the older Intel 6230 (difference between 6230 and 6235 is that mine has Bluetooth 3.0 and the other has bluetooth 4.0) and I have perfect gaming experience with it. So, go for it, get Intel 6235!
Clevo is known to have WORLD-LEADING cooling and P170EM is at the peak of the best cooling available for laptops! WORLD class. Better than Alienware. Better than you and me put together.
Trust me...you will soon forget about fried eggs and bacon on a laptop.
Just upgrade to the IC Diamond 7 cooling paste (Xotic puts it on default I think).

What is the difference between the 6235 and 6300 cards? From what I can gather, there's increased transfer speeds, but I can't tell if it would actually help with ping/latency...

The 6300 is a triple-stream (3x3 antennas) without Bluetooth.
It supports faster speeds (if only your router does the same) it delivers premium Wi-Fi speed (up to 300 Mbps, 450 Mbps with WiFi-direct), a rather greater range.

The 6235 is with Bluetooth and is a multi-stream (2x2 antennas) card.
It has a long range, but not quite as good a latency thrown down as the 6300 has, nor the same range (the 6300 is basically tier 1).

People usually go for the 6300, unless Bluetooth is a choice of matter to you. The 6300 also has a very efficient range.
I hope I helped -
Hrm... your information seems conflicting on Killer Wireless-N...
The Killer Wireless-N 1202 high-performance, 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi module introduces Bluetooth for the first time, providing users with the ability to play online games or stream media while simultaneously having Bluetooth connectivity, an essential feature for online gamers who use Bluetooth-enabled peripherals.

Thanks again! -
Wise choice for the 6300. Best range there is.
