Hey everyone!
I just had a few questions about Clevo laptops and resellers, and figured this would be the best place to ask them. The laptop I'm mainly referring to is the Clevo P150HM.
What kind of discounts can someone get? I believe I heard someone mention getting a free upgraded i7 processor, someone getting more RAM, etc. Are these because of maybe an error so the reseller gave a free upgrade to compensate or are they because someone asked for it?
Also, I was wondering if there's a way to customize a specific laptop to having only 4gb of ram, rather than the standard 8gb. I already have 8gb of un-wrapped ram that is compatible!
Finally, I've heard many people on this forum talking about graphics cards better than the NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 560M; mainly the AMD Radeon HD 6990M I believe. Is there a way to upgrade from the 560M to the HD 6990M? Most resellers' P150HM is limited to the 560M.
Thanks for any feedback or answers anyone can give!![]()

Hi, each reseller offers different discounts - some have free shipping, RAM Promotions, FREE Upgrades etc. It's best to PM each reseller to get the latest deals.

Discounts vary by reseller. Right now a lot of them are selling the P150HM-S1, which provides a discount on a certain configuration. I believe the S1 starts with a 2720QM, which is the next step above the 2630QM; 16GB of RAM; 500-750GB HDD (depends on the reseller); DVD-RW or Blu-Ray (again, depends); Killer N 1103; AMD Radeon 6990M.
I think the P150HM-S1 goes for ~$1,760 though, which based on your previous posts, is $560 over the budget.
Most resellers that frequent NBR sell the P150HM/NP8150 with the 6990M now. A lot of NBR members who have pre-ordered will be receiving their P150HMs with the 6990M in them (including me). Off the top of my head, there's Malibal, XoticPC, Mythlogic, GenTechPC, LPC-Digital, and I believe a few more. Each reseller has its own perks and discounts, so a PM to a representative from each company would be recommended.
The nice thing about resellers is they can cater to custom orders, like only including 4GB of RAM. As for upgrading to the 6990M, it would be wiser to purchase the laptop with the 6990M instead of upgrading in the future. The card+heatsink will cost ~$400-500 bought separately. Additionally, the upgrade price from the GTX560M to the 6990M is usually ~$245 from most resellers; upgrading the card in the future would mean you'd have a GTX560M which you can't do anything with.
I hope that helped a little in your journey towards a new gaming laptop. -
Ahh wow thanks guys! Definitely gonna have to PM some resellers soon(might even wait a little while to up my budget and follow what you said and get the laptop with the better graphics rather than upgrading later
)
Also I just meant the regular P150HM, which starts at about $1300. 1700+ is a bit much though >< -

The 560m would be more than enough for me anyways, so I just may stick with that model -

It sounds like you have a little time yet to plan things though, so they should have it available by the time you want to purchase. -
I was told 7-10 days 7 days ago (Aug 17th) so hopefully it will be by the end of this week! I want the p151hm1 because many people complain about the touchpad on the 150. It has the rubbery material over it and even though I won't be using the touchpad for games, I will still use it for general use.

I am also waiting for the right time to order my new laptop, too but my old np8690 is still fine (>_<)
hoping new gpu or new cpu will come out within this year, or even the lower price of SSD. Anyone knows that anything i mention above will happen soon? -

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking to upgrade to a NP8150 (I think) to replace my Dell Inspiron 1420. I really don't want to give up my computer, I'd just need an updated graphics card. I'm gonna miss the 14".
I'm sure once it gets here and I have a 6990 I'll get over it I'm sure. The only game I really play right now is Heroes of Newerth. I play it mostly on medium settings with my 8400m GS that this laptop has. My new plan w/ the laptop is to be able to hook it to the 21" 1080p monitor and play it w/ everything maxed out including the Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic 32x. Heck I don't even know what those 2 do, but they are there and I want them maxed,
. I'm thinking about saving that money from changing from the 560 to the 6990, but it'd be nice to know I have pretty much the best there is that I can put in there at the moment to last me a good while. I've just been comparing some sites, mostly PNB and XoticPC's. Prices seem to be about the same between the two.

I just spoke with them via the Live Chat option on the website. Still going through options that I want and then I'll decide. I'm thinking I'll go with Xotic as I've talked with them mostly so far. I still have some options to decide on as far as if the Seagate XT drive is worth the $70 and some other things like that. This laptop is already over my budgetlol. Funny how it always ends up like that.
