Flashed without any issues. Ran CDM. Speeds improved slightly, notably the 4K speeds, however the real purpose of the firmware update is to fix any major stability issues people were having with 0006 (I did not have any issues).

Wow those are excellent speeds. Would be interesting to know what the benches are when you have your ssd filled to near capacity though (80% or more)

I'm not sure how this is relevant to Clevo/Sager....it would be a better idea to place this in the SSD forum.

Sorry about that, I have a P170HM so I spend the majority of my time in the Clevo/Sager forum, and I rarely browse the other forum topics. Just thought if any other Clevo/Sager owners owned this SSD and were like me in not browsing the other topics, they would be interested. If a mod wants to move this thats fine. I'll try to stay a little more on topic next time.

I went from 0006 to 0007 and it was much slower!

I just picked up a c300 (in the mail) it looks like the new m4's just came out. I wonder if it's worth the extra $50 to get the m4 or just stay with the c300??

M4 has faster sequential but slower 4K and random than C300 IIRC. The things that are important for fast booting are faster on a C300. They offer different things. The nice thing is the drop in C300 prices with the M4's release.

Well, I'm throwing ALL of my data onto a second internal HD, and I'm not going to spend a bunch of time 'timing' my boot ups, I just want a FAST & RELIABLE drive for program launching, etc...should I stay with the c300 or get the m4? I really don't care much about the extra $50 if it means I end up with a better drive...Thoughts?

If speed of programs is your main concern, I'd get a Vertex 3 over either.

Reliability scares me to death with SSD's. I've heard a lot more bad things about OCZ than the C300 (and I love OCZ memory)...

Unless I'm mistaken...your laptop doesn't support SATA III. So Vertex 3 and C300 won't be able to reach their max speed anyway.

If reliability is your main concern, get an Intel X-25M or the new 320 series. They will still go a lot faster than any hard drive.

Oh yeah, I didn't notice that. In that case, he should maybe save money by looking for a SATA II drive like those you posted.

I've always read that Intel would probably be the most reliable. The Intel 320 160GB can be had for $285 which is very close $$/GB to the C300...

....I was reading that the C300 and the Intel 320 use the same micron chips and Marvell controller....so, does it really make a difference?

Should I stick with the Crucial C300 128GB or get the Intel 320 160GB?

Intel has more reliability features in their design and firmware. IE: Intel overprovisions drives a little more and has extra capacitors, etc. to provide power for the drive in case of power loss so it has time to dump and protect all data.

The C300 is much faster than the Intel 320 since the C300 is SATA III. The C300 and the Intel 510 are the ones with similar controllers and performance. The Intel 320 is slower.

The 320 series use the same controller (Intel) that the X25-M series. The 510 series use the Marvell controller like Micron and Crucial.

    So....Intel 510 120GB or Crucial C300 128GB?

    What say you forum? :D

    C300. It's $199 on Newegg right now.
