Well unfortunately the other day I crushed my Sager NP8130.
It's pretty bad and I just got a quote from Xotic PC (where I bought it) and it would cost approx $380 + Labor + Shipping, so I am guessing close to $500 to replace it.

    This is my screen:
15.6” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Screen-

I cannot afford $500 to replace it. I am unemployed and have been saving up for a year to buy a tablet but looks like a new screen instead now.

What can I get to replace it and how do I replace it? I do a lot of work on Desktops but laptops are not my area of expertise. Only prob is I have 1 year left on my warranty and replacing it myself will void it. :(

Any recommended sites to buy a screen for it?

EDIT Not sure what happened why it double posted blank posts.

Labor is going to be more than $50 I bet. Anyway, you can try these guys

LCD Panel_Studio Technology Co.,Ltd (yes but people have bought from them on these forums and it was fine)

    Try Ebay as well.

Clevo/Sager Resellers might sell you the part, which is a more comfortable option but it may be more expensive.

I'd you replace the screen yourself, it should only void the warranty of the screen.. If you buy a replacement from a decent place, it should come with some kind of warranty.

I'd PM some other resellers to see what they'd charge for a screen. Or maybe make a wanted to buy thread in the market place to see if someone has another screen laying around..

Send us a PM and we can help you get a screen if you are able to swap them out. :)

You don't need any type of special screen. Almost any 15.6" LED screen will work. The cheapest should be around 60$ for a 1366x768.

If you live near new jersey, you can have one for free, its sitting around at my brothers house not getting any use. :)

    *cringes at pic*

Yeah, the warranty on sager computers is really hard to void. The only thing that will go if you replace it yourself is the warranty for the screen.

If you're still reading this thread, I have a spare glossy v.1 screen from when I upgraded my P150HM to the 95% color gamut model. It's yours for $50 and the cost of shipping if you want it. Swapping the screen out is pretty simple- just pop the little rubber bumpers off from around the screen, unscrew the hidden screws there, and then unclip the bezel. You should be able to get to the screen from there and it's pretty straightforward how you unscrew it from the frame and unhook the display cable.

EDIT: The screen saw ~6 months of use before I swapped it out, no dead pixels though and it's in perfect shape (and in a padded mailing box I can just slap a label on and send out)

that is one expensive quote for a crack screen! consider you can get the screen on Ebay for $100 or so. I only paid $400 shipping and labor included to replace the motherboard of my p150.

I have a 1600x900 screen(1-2 months of use). you can have it for free if you want, you just have to pay shipping from Canada. send me a pm if want it.
