hey guys was planning on now buying myself a gaming notebook. But I wanted to know somethings about the sager 9262.
1. Does the sager 9262 now have the 8800 gtx SLI cards enabled? (A few weeks back I checked and read that the sager 9262 was only running with only 1 8800gtx card because drivers hasnt been released to enable 2 of the 8800gtx cards)
2. Whats the fps and benchmarks for crysis on the 9262 with the 8800 gtx SLI (2 8800gtx cards). Interested in high settings and very high settings on different resolutions
THanks for your help guys
-
- Yup. The 9262 with SLi is now shipping.
- Justin@xoticpc has posted some benchmarks from a 9262 (not quad-core) running dual 8800M in SLi. The last results he posted are here. I'm sure that as he gets more results, and the time to post them, he will.
-
i think only like 2 people confirmed getting it.
so far. it's probably 100% close to the dell's benchmarks.
from what I can see the 3dmark 06 scores are Identical.
though the dell has been out longer and has more mature drivers and stuff no doubt. thats why the scores have been similar even though we have more powerful processors.
wait 2 months.
then you can know.
there hasn't been anybody yet posting anything.
and I bet there is going to be alot of issues for a while. there always is with first RUN early adopters/equip just released.
i suppose it's better that clevo took thier sweet dog azz time to release the stuff. but the drivers better be that good.
time will show and tell. -
Though the new beta drivers look VERY promising indeed in Crysis and Bioshock -
officially yes.
but people have been getting good FPS with 174.31 -
I doubt if the cpu will make much difference. Duals seem to perform as well as quads. -
-
Why play 1920x1200 all high when you can go 1280x800,very high and 4xaa no problemo ?
-
1280x800 is low res. and the textures are too large.
1900x1200 gives very sharp picture. small textures because more detail.
higher res= better.
I am happy although @1680x1050 all settings High. i get 35 fps -
-
Well, I do to. But since I don`t really know the difference between Very High and High,I`m just playing catch here, isn`t very high worth the lower res?
Anybody wanna post screenshots on the same resolution, whichever, both in all high and all very high? -
I get 30-35 FPS all settings very high at 1900x1200 after some over clocking and tweaking. The 1730 owners thread has some tips for tweaking crysis for max performance, you should check it out.
I got 15189 3dmarks with overclocking. I haven't pushed the GPU's to far because I don't want to fry them. So far temps have been surprisingly low though, of course when I OC the Cpu the fans are always on high which is what keeps it so cool.
I'm very interested in seeing what you guys pull off once more of you get a hold of them.
As far as drivers, I've been using lv2g drivers from the start and have had very good results with 174.31.
EDIT: I have a 1730 btw I realized I didn't mention that and now everyone knows me lol.
EDIT AGAIN!: All results are on Vista 32 bit. I Actually got 100 marks more there than on my XP dual boot. Drivers I guess *Shrug* -
nice 3dmark scores, what clocks are you using?
what do you get oc'd with single card?
I imagine about 11k? -
Just ran it with SLI disabled for ya (hadn't disabled it since I first installed the driver lol).Came out to 11581 in vista. I'm hoping future drivers will imrpoved the SLI jump a little bit, maybe to at least a 50% increase. But over all I couldn't be happier with performance and I look forward to seeing what these cards do when drivers catch up.
Clocks are at 600 core and 950 memory. Some people on the 1730 owners thread have pushed further but like I said I don't want to fry my card.
-
it's nice to have the ability to OC the processor.
I must say. if I could OC my quad. it would be nice.
Dudes.
The M1730. is better Performance wize it seems than the 9260.
I am conceding this fact!
I like my 9260 but I believe when it comes to Video Performance
the m1730 beats down the 9260!
I mean, clearly it seems their cards are better than our clevo ones.
look at his single score.!!!
I have a quad core and he only had 3k for a CPU score. I have 3750+
He beat my single score, and he is using VISTA.
I think this proves that Clevos are a DUD.
I don't think that SLI will beat the DELL.
and I am kinda sad because Dell came out first. and didn't look back.
clevo hasn't even fully released SLI and I think the deals done. were done. it's over.
Good scores bud. -
this is all I can get with the same clocks. and QUAD CORE!!!! and XP!!!!!!!!!!
I seriously think that something is severely WRONG HERE!!!!
Clevos cards are BUNK!!!!!
and this is the second person I have had show me this and they got nearly identical scores with 1 card.
it's basically the sm2.0 score that makes the cake.
i guess the CPU score doesn't matter that much huh?
I am giving my 3dmark another go. after closing fraps, nvtray etc.
why is mine lower???? is it because I have XP??? there has to be something to explain this?
I mean do you play with those clocks 24-7?
I do with mineLast edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
I keep the clocks at 600/950 whenever I'm gaming. I do drop them back to stock clocks when I'm working and doing anything else.
I do enjoy being able to OC the CPU. The funny thing is it forces the fans in to high(which actually isn't all that loud) so everything actually runs cooler with it OCed.
I'm not really worried about it burning out early from overclocking since I picked up the 4 year warrnaty, but I don't really feel the need to push it any further on the clocks. Maybe when newer games come out and I really need to.
My temps are significantly higher than yours, even with no overclocking. They idle around 48 degrees F and get up to around 57 under load. Although it's been a hot week here in so cal so ambient temperature may be skewing it a litte. I'm thinking about picking up a Zalman NC2000 people have reported dropping 10 degrees on the 1730 using it.
EDIT: Oh yeah my stock scores were a bit higher in vista x64 but I had to go back to x86 because I couldn't find any overclocking software for the GPU's that worked well under x64. When they update Rivatuner etc to fully support the 8800m I'll probably go back and hopefully see a slight improvement. -
I run my clocks 24-7.
I see you like to OC to see what you can do, and that's cool.
I OC to get better performance.
and I am really freaking out over nothing.
Our scores are very close. within about 100 or more marks. wich doesn't mean really anything.
I just figured that since the CPU score etc it was more CPU bound. and that kinda settles an argument with my buddy that 3dmarks CPU score doesn't mean that much anyways.
since I got 700 more CPU marks than you and you still got more overall score than me... -
there I ran with alot of processes killed and I got 11577, but my sm2.0 score did not change. my CPU score balanced out.
so this I think proves that the m1730 has better performing cards.
are cards are totally different that's for sure.
you have more of an X2 card like the 7950x2 which is cool, and I just have a single card. I mean they are different.. that's all. -
I overclock for performance, I just don't need that performance when doing work. (mostly office apps, remote desktop, etc). So I reset the clocks back to stock when I'm not gaming.
I didn't really kill processes or anything, my network management crap touchpad etc were all running. But memory usage never got above 50% so I didn't think it would matter to much. -
I had alot of stuff on my task manager.
somethings gotta be up.
we both have 8800mgtx.
I have a better processor.
so I should get a higher 3dmark score. by everything I have seen and read.
but something is bringing my score down.
If I had vista maybe I could test but I hate vista and gave it away. -
I broke 15k in XP as well with SLI, socres were pretty similar. I didn't try with SLI disabled though and my current setup has no XP partition to test it out. Maybe I'll make one and mess with it if I get some extra time. I will probably just get sucked in to Crysis though since this is the first time playing it for me
.
-
I only have 2gb of ram currently, I am thinking that might have something to do with it.
also I am d/l sp3 for XP.
my friend with a q6700 just ran for me with xp sp3 and same clocks and got 12500+
so something must be wrong with my system.
albiet he has a q6700, but I am thinking RAM, and Software..
what's also sad is that this is the only real clevo forum i know of. next to nbf.... and I am pretty much the ONLY PERSON involved in "The Scene" There are a couple others. but god really????
I think I should have got the m1730.
so far.
better performance
better support
better support
better performance.
did I allready say that?? oh ya. they both go double time!!!
I might sell this beast and get a m1730.
I have some thinking to do.....
If nobody jumps on board and contributes or anything. i'm out. -
I wasn't a big fan of Dell's myself.
i did a lot of research, nearly bought the sager 9262. I kept waiting for the 8800 sli to come out, never came.
I think the 9262 running in sli will have an edge over the M1730.
TBH though I certainly don't regret picking up the M1730. Runs great, performance is solid, has lots of extras (lit keyboard, logitech g15 lcd, excellent warranty, etc.) I have to admit it's a nice feeling not having to worry about locking my car with my 4500 dollar laptop sitting in the back. Someoen could steal it and dell will give me a new one lol. Bored and feel like throwing your laptop off a 20 story apartment building...dell will send you another...lol -
Ok I went back and killed some unnecesarry open software. Got 11612 on single GPU and 15208 on SLI. Not huge jumps but figured I'd post it. I can post screen caps later if you want.
I may load an XP partition some time to test, but honestly my game performance seems fine on vista and I'm starting to feel lazy =p. -
I think the score will be the same or so in VISTA
-
I've been telling ya guys that competition is coming and it is fearce. Both in pricing and technology.
Let's face it, Clevo has been in a camp where there was little to none competition. Meanwhile at a premium price, support for the d901c regarding improved BIOS and better video drivers has been none. MXMIV also did not deliver and upgradeability is none existent in practice also due to the need of systematic motherboard upgrades (imply dismantling the system).
I believe that the PLL is not public (so we could overclock the CPU) becouse Clevo is locking down secrets regarding the ability to play desktop CPU and chipsets interwined with laptop technology. Either this or Clevo believe that the colling system of the box cannot handle CPU overclocking as DELL's own.
Add to this the fact that Clevo does not talk to or ear customers with a d901c, I forsee further customer shifts. I remember when Mr.Eurocom told us that would follow up a petition regarding a more flexible BIOS for overclocking, well ended in nothing.
A $4500 working system is not enough. At premium tech and price I'm used to high QoS, meaning better then mainstream.
Paradoxally people with a M570RU-U are far better served then us. They payed less and get more in terms of service (improved fan control after sales, overclockable CPU for ages using SetFSB after sales, overclockable video card, improved BIOS as for customer requests after sales, etc).
dexgo,
Is not that strange that the m1730 gets better scores and FPS in SLi. Their SLi architecture is superior. Two GPUs in a single card has it's advantages in terms of bandwith. At most heat would be a problem but it seams that is not. I think it is emazing they managed to put all those lights inside the box (not that I like it) but still keep the system as cool as the bulkier d901c.
Stay cool,
Trance
PS: I know that I'm a pain in the arse, but my next laptop will not be a Clevo unless things change. Don't take this as threat as it is not. It is a natural consequence of the above. Don't confuse quallity with reliability and performance. The second is just a component of the first. If I simply wanted a reliable machine I would have bought a high end business class Toshiba, HP or DELL + DIY Gaming Rig for less money (with all the bells and wissles). -
im back again.. just wanting to find out if any of you lads have received your NP9262 with Q6700 and 8800GTX Sli. and 4gb of ram.. what are your 3d mark scores looking like..
-
TRANCE, I dont' care about SLI.
I care about SIngle VS SIngle....
their single card mode beats ours. -
Dude, I wish I got a DELL
-
Dude, I wish I got a Ferrari.
Dexgo,I`m betting your system is held back by drivers.Maybe you should try different ones.
I mean from my initial 5350 score in Vista, just by changing drivers,I got to 5650 in XP. DRIVERS ALONE. -
I have tried many drivers.
If others posted their scores to compare maybe we could get some where.
I have tried many drivers.
my CPU is holding up my score.
if I had the Dell processor I would only get like 10k probably.
The dells is clearly better with the same drivers and single mode.
you can tell because of the Sm2.0 score. -
Well, if you peak at 64, OC more
-
but i am oc'd alot the same as the dells. and they get a better score.
I am dissapointed. -
If you put it that way,sure.Maybe.But it`s a stinkin` synthetic benchmark.
Real life score MATTER. You probably get better results than them. Do a real life test, single card to single card. Then we talk. -
That said the 9262 is a beast of a machine and we haven't seen what the SLI can do when over clocked. I'm still eagerly awaiting some numbers there. Even if for some reason it's less it's not like you got a bad system. Everything doesn't have to be a contest lol. -
hehe, yes it doed
-
hey Duane, can you send me a private msg giving me your msn or aim info, because I am going to buy a dell 1730 for sure now but need to know more about messing with the systems config, and would aprpeciate your help if I could contact you. I'm already having a ahrdtime configuring my new 1530 -_- -
Dexgo, your scores seem good enough, look at those guys who got a M15x, with max specs X9000 + 8800 gtx single card, they spent $3700 if you configure it yourself. I know its a 15" but it has a high end cpu and best single card, and they only run crysis at high mode at 1440 resolution with BARELY 20 fps, and its hardly consistant, watched videos with the system with config I mentions, and it is at 13-17 fps as consistency. So those m15x imo is crap, and good luck waiting for AW to release better "drivers"
I really wanted a m15x in the beginning but after these reviews and test, its pure crap for the price imo. So im still trying to see if I should get a 9262 or a 1730. I was going to order one today from dell, but they totally changed the price for the $3999 system, so now I gotta wait.
$3999 - my 15% studen discount will put me down to $3500ish with 4 year accidental dmg =D -
btw duane, what processor do you have? The X7900 or the X9000?
-

well I thought I would join in , I am not overclocking my beast as I dont feel I need to, its plenty fast enough with my games at the mo (although o/c might happen if I need it in the future
)
anyway
I am running the demo of crysis, and it seems nice and smooth.
this is at High settings, 1920x1200 2xaa, on xp....
I thought this looks pretty good wonder what the fps is like, so I download FRAPS.........what the.......????
fraps showed 17-21 fps (early stages of the demo)
and every couple of seconds the game jerked. glitched as in a small pause.
fraps was ruining the fps........all on its own.........I take fraps off and the game runs smoother .... no wonder people say they dont have a problem, until of course they try to benchmark it!
what can I say, the game works on my system, and so far the demo is perfectly playable without giving a thought to the framerate, if I need to reduce the res a bit so what? its not the end of the world, considering the freakish nature of the product.
also 3dmark06 is pretty outdated, and proabably doesnt handle Penryns or gf8800's that well
and you guys are all getting way over 11k on this synthetic benchmark, which means most of the demos are doing 60fps most of the time!!!.
in fact isnt 10k the barrier to break on 3dmarks
the fact that I probably only get 22-23 official fps on crysis didnt stop it from being playable.
I will see how I get on with the full game and the fancy mods that sort out the bad programming! -
can someone respond to me last 2 post on this thread please, duane? anyone?
-
yes I know 11k is good but. since I have a quad core and score 700points more than him my score should be higher. and near the same sm2.0 score etc etc.
it's pure math.
I am struggleing to match him. when He has a weaker processor.
and he gets higher sm2.0 score. remember he has VISTA which takes of up to 20% performance. -
Sorry I don't get on the boards much during the weekends.
I have the x9000, someone in the 1730 owners thread said that Dell had a shortage of them. I'm not sure, I only got mine last week so it wasn't that long ago.
I would call phone sales and see whats going on and ask about the deal that was on the web before. -
r_DisplayInfo = 1 -
just get fraps. or nvtray, you can monitor clocks, temps and fps al in one.
-
FRAPS always takes a few fps down. Noticed it myself when playing with/without it. But I am a Fraps addictive, and always need visual confirmation of the frame per second I get.
I refuse to play a game that goes below 20 fps ,if it`s 2007/2008 but I won`t play it unless it averages 30. Anything below that is jerky.
Crysis was the game with the most stutters I`ve ever seen in a game.I finished it twice but I hate the game for the fact that it stutters horribly, can get down to 5 fps and up to 50 fps in the same room/ambient. -
sorry but 17-20 average fps in crysis is not a playable framerate, or any first person shooter, for than matter.
-
Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
yes argh, thats what I thought too, so I can only think that fraps was getting it wrong.
I will try the console command duane, cheers for that
