What kind of performance do you get with Crysis on the 5793 with the 8800m GTX? I have Win XP SP2 (will get sp3 soon) and on 1680x1050, I get 25.7 FPS in the Crysis benchmark. I just ran the file - don't know if there are further settings for it.

In Game, I get 32 FPS at the same res while standing, 23-25 while walking and in intense fighting, about 19.

I am using Crysis patch 1.2 and driver Sager Nvidia 169.43.

Do those FPS seem to be about what other users with a similar setup get? Or is there any suggestions on other video drivers? Or how does Crysis do in Vista?

I know very well that Crysis is a goofy game performance wise, I am just wondering how my rig seems to be fairing with it. :)

    Thank you!

    Edit - benchmark number.

Yes, it's what most of the users get with a nonOCed card.
Most of them OC a bit to 600/900/1500 and have some better results.
Or you can lower to 1440x900 and get an extra boost.
Crysis looks good and stresses the system out, but it`s not as much fun as UT3 or Cod4...

You didn't post your settings... ie. medium, high, very high... thats probably even more important than the res your running.

I can pretty much say with 99% certainty that he had High settings, the default ones, from the results...

Make that 100 percent :D Yes, you win the cigar!

Edit - btw, does the Crysis1.2 patch seem to cause problems for anyone? I think it makes more lag/fps loss for me using Sager 167.46 or the stock 169.43.

Also, how much does OC'ing help?

1.2 actually increased FPS for me...
OCing can help a lot, depending on how much you do it.
A 8800M GTX can be safely OCed to 600/1500/900 and the gains are quite nice.
Also, the T9300 can go upto 3.0 Ghz easily and safely...
PM @Nirvana about this, he has the exact same CPU /GPU as you do and he's OCed his.

    Wow!!!

That's great result for non OC 8800mGTX even in XP and with 1680x1050 res. I get 24fps in 1600x1200 (WUXGA screen) all high, with Vista 64bit SP1 and OC 8800mGTX to 600 1400 900 and 19.5fps in 1900x1200. I get 30 only in 1400x1050 (29.8) and 1440x900 (30.8). I have same rig M570RU T9300, 4GB RAM, 200 GB HDD 7200rpm, driver 174.90. Great result! Congrat man. Is Vista slowing down that much???

Thanks eleron! That would void the warranty on these parts, though, right?

Edit - Good news for you - I had Crysis set on a lower res by mistake so I corrected my results. On 1680x1050, I get 25.7 FPS. Looks like Vista isn't too bad :) Thanks for the info!

The game runs really well for me, not sure why the CPU overclock seems to add 4fps but I'm not going to complain, I also change the config file to put physics on the 2nd core of my processor. I've tried it at 1440x900 but it jerks a few times during cutscenes, 1280x800 gives me the most consistent smoothness.

Anyway, just fyi. The 175.70 drivers seem to work great.

OCing in itself will not void the warranty, but if the affected part dies due to OCing , it will :)
As long as you use a notebook cooler, or max fans, and take care of the temps, you're fine :)
Read my guide for how to's .

The game is very cpu bound, I've seen reviews done with desktop computers and overclocking the cpu even at higher resolutions still improves FPS. I'll run the test when I get crysis reinstalled.

Thug21 you don't really need notebook cooler for 5793, even for OC'ing.

I know the 5793 has a pretty beefy cooling system to start with so I mainly got it out of curiosity :)
Good to know about OC'ing though. Thanks!

there is no way you are getting 32.5 fps average at those settings. are you sure all of your settings are on high and the game is not modified?

here are my results for crysis, which i think will be the norm for the 8800m gtx cards right now.

    crysis internal benchmark utility full screen mode Benchmark_GPU batch file;

800x600 all high dx9 = 49.16 fps avg. single gpu

1280x960 all high dx9 = 31.91 fps avg. single gpu

1440x900 all high dx9 = 29.62 fps avg. single gpu

1680x1050 all high dx9 = 23.37 fps avg. single gpu

1920x1200 all high dx9 = 18.86 fps avg. single gpu

800x600 all high dx9 = 43.50 fps avg. sli card

1280x960 all high dx9 = 41.67 fps avg. sli card

1440x900 all high dx9 = 38.56 fps avg. sli card

1680x1050 all high dx9 = 35.19 fps avg. sli card

1920x1200 all high dx9 = 30.28 fps avg. sli card

    You are right!

I just found the discrepancy before I saw your post and corrected it. I seems I had it set to a lower res and forgot about it.

Just re ran the test and I get 25.7 FPS on 1680x1050 (all high) which seems to be a good result.
