I know that this has been about before and I've searched before, but since now more people have gotten their 2090's, I was wondering how bad the ctrl key switched with the fn key is. Have most of you gotten used to it? (Particularly in games) Also, is the size of the ctrl key a problem? It seems smaller than other laptops I've seen.

They're both the same, normal (for the size of the keyboard) size. Having them switched, however, is a major annoyance until you get used to it.

I'm on my second week and I'm finally starting to hit the control key, but the person who decided to switch the two keys needs a good hard smack upside the head.

if you have a "normal" laptop withtou the keys switched out... you can try getting used to pressing fn :p ... at least that's what i do

i can kind of understand why they did the switch out though.. this way, our pinkies won't have to reach out... and can just press ctrl with a curl.

what would really bother me probably is the del / pause buttons being switched <_<

I've had mine for 3 weeks and you could say I'm "used" to it meaning I don't accidentally hit Fn much anymore, but it's still really really annoying for gaming. As mentioned the size is way too small, but more importantly the orientation of the ctrl key to WASD is way off.

if you're looking at it vertically there is some overlap between the A and ctrl, and that's way too close. If you're trying to imagine what it's like just place your hand on WASD as you normally would then reposition your pinky from it's natural comfortable position to about 1 inch left and 1/2 inch down. Very uncomfortable and makes gaming severely less enjoyable on this machine imho.

I'm actually still looking for someway to mod the keyboard to fix this serious design flaw. Those who make it out to be less of a problem than it is are not big gamers.

    2 words:

    gaming keyboard :)

its inexpensive and improves the longevity of the notebook's keyboard (from overuse and grease palm stains)
