Has anyone tried to put a GForce M8600 GT on a D900C?

    It should do right?

    Why wouldn't I?

Anyway, the question is mainly technical and not of benefit. Just cheking how compatible is D900c with the new cards. The D900c is an expensive rig to be tied to old technology you know, even if for the time being the old is faster then the new but its circunstancial IMHO.

So anyone done it for the sake of testing?

    ^ What they said :p

The D900C is a very high-end gaming laptop (SLI 7950GTX's). The 8600M GT is a mid-range card at best, and isn't really worth considering putting into a lappy of this high calibur.

What we're all waiting on is the 8 700M GT which will supposedly be similar to (or better than) the 7950GTX, but with DX10 support. That's what I'm waiting for - as soon as one of these with SLI 8700M GT's are released, I'm snatching one up. :)

Edit: To answer your question, I'm sure the 8600M GT would easily fit into (as far as energy/heat demands) the D900C if you wanted to.

I'm happy with my SLI 7950 GTX for now... If i want DX10 in 1,5 year or more, i'll just buy new graphic cards from Sager.

Clevo modular vidoecards are proprietary. You cannot put in any standard MXM cards in it, only Clevo modular cards.
