I have a d900c/9260. Purchased a new 500GB 7200RPM 2.5 HD to upgrade my current 160GB HD. Cloned my old harddrive and new hard drive using acronis. But when i put new harddisk I get windows boot manager error. saying that new device is not accessible and asked me to repair using Windows 7 CD. But when i tried inserting my Win 7 RC 7100 build cd again i get the same error.

Does 9260 requires any firmware update to accomodate 7200.4 harddisk. I purchased 3 nos of HD and all three are lying idle and waste. Any body help me to sort this issue out.

Did you test the Acronis image after you had created it?

Did you make sure the new hard disk was set to active and primary after the image was restored?

You should try the hard disk freshly formatted by itself without a clone written to it to make sure that it works on its own.

    2. How to set harddisk to active and primary. Where to set. After the clone?
    3. The harddisk worked fine in Wind 7 RC when connected through external casing thru USB.
