Many posts on here are leading me to believe that there will be upgrades (GTX SLI is rumored) available on the D900C/D901C models come mid-August. Is this true? And if it is, will it be possible to get the same laptop that you could get now at a discount in 2-4 weeks?

I want to pick up a Sager before September, so sometime in the next month I will put in my order through Xotic, but is it better to wait until then? I know that you "shouldn't wait for technology" since it is always improving, but is this smart since I want this laptop to last for many years?

Also, whats the difference (benchmarks?) between a single 9800 GT and dual 9800 GT SLI? Is it worth the extra 400-500?

Pricing and benchmark comparisons are unknown. And GTX SLI isn't rumored, but a fact - we just don't have a timeframe for it.

As for if you should wait, its a personal choice. I wouldn't, you could play almost anything on the market right now with a single gtx.

if you can wait, then wait...

that 'purchase' button is a tough one, especially for a system like that

personally I had to finally buy, but waited long enough to have certain parts updated (in phase 2 now, but paid a couple days after the montevina release)

two to four weeks is a real long time in technology terms, so i would wait until the last minute to get the latest and greatest parts (or current for less)

many intel cpu's received a price cut:

I like the optimism and certainty you say that. Just hope it is announced in a couple of days so i can get my laptop and be over with it :)
