Hello everyone. My D900F turned four years old this July and it's starting to show its age. Well, the video card is showing its age. So, what choices do I have as far as upgrading the GPU? I saw from MXM-upgrade you can fit a HD6970 in with little modifications but, can any MXM 3.0 card work with the D900F? I'd love to put a GTX 580M in there. I see a lot of Dell OEM cards being sold on the marketplace forum. Are there any compatibility issues with the Dell cards?
How about the stock heatsink. I'm pretty handy with my dremel so making the HD6970 fit wouldn't be a problem but, how about a GTX 580? Assuming it works, does it require any modifications? Are there any known heat issues with any GPU?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has a compatible card they are looking to unload I'm in the market for one. I live in the US (New Jersey) and have a budget of around $300. So, shoot me a PM. Thanks!

When I looked at the options for my D900F it looked like the HD6970 was the max. 480M on NVIDIA front. But the 6970 would have some possible issues as you can see on MXM Upgrade, so it was a risk.

bn880 is correct, the 480M is the highest officially supported card. Make sure your BIOS is at latest revision prior to doing any upgrades.
