I know that the D900T doesnt fully supot the q6600. But i have read on the board that it does work, at least for a time.

So what is it about the Q6600 that doesnt fully work with the Q6600
    Is it the chipsets FSB?
I would like to know to see if theres any hardware hacking way around it. Let me know.

The hardware hacking would be another mobo. Like the D901C one. :)

So only the d901C is the only one thats capable of using the q6600 G0 The d900t is totaly impossible?

By the way the seager anouncment doesnt really say very much only the g0 edition may or may not work. :/

how many times do I have to tell you.

The D900T (with Intel 915 chipset) is phased out.... it only takes LGA 775 Pentium 4's.... PERIOD.

Only the D900C/D901C (with Intel 965 chipset) will take the new Core 2 Duo/Quad's.

Sorry, there is no upgrade path for the D900T anymore.

    He didn't make a mistake...
He said that the D900T only takes the LGA 775 Pentium 4's...

He never said that the quads didn't fit...

Its the chipset that is the problem.

To be fair Gophn has answered this question a few times on this forum already. A lot of grief would be saved if people learned to use search before they posted, but then someone would have to be sainted because it would be a miracle. :D

tbh Ive given up. Ive decided to let my laptop die and just save my cash on a new machine...
I was going to get a new d900t mother board but for the price It just doesnt seem worth it any more.

Sorry to hear about it and I understand where you coming from nutsy. The Pentium 4 was a flawed chip IMO. Just too darn hot for a notebook. It probably contributed to your motherboards death. :( My friends D900T has part of the exhaust system melted from the heat, with them you had to have a notebook cooler to be honest.

Don't be frightened off Clevo units though nutsy, they have come a long way. (Even if there are some annoyances! ;) )

Tbh I went with Clevo because of portability on a workstation. But now I could build a shuttle system for a fraction of the price :/, Great for lanning and taking my work with me. I dont really see the need for a workstation laptop anymore.

Maybe when i have loads of cash spare I may consider it but this lesson has been painfully learned.

For a computer to start to fail in under 2 years is just not on. I looked after my machine. When the cooling wasnt doing as well as it normaly did I opened it up and cleaned out the heatsyncs... They where real dust magnets. But my PC never over heated. Considering the price i paid for this machine I really would of been better off paying for a new desktop :/
