I sucessfully got Vista running on my D900K..The only real problem I had which took me three days to figure out, was the Biscon Cam driver was preventing the unit from restarting or shuttting down without pressing the power button. The driver is no good and not avaialble yet, so you have to dsiaable for now.

I'm not running Raid, only SATA.

Just felt like an accomplishment that I wanted to share. :)

    Thanks for sharing.

I have already installed Vista Ultimate on my D900K as well... a couple of weeks ago. The drivers all seem fine, i had to modify the Bisoncam drivers to force install, but i believe its available through Sager now.

I removed Vista and went back to XP Pro because of the gaming performance loss. I like performance more than a flashy OS. Vista seems nice, but too much of a resource hog.

If you are not gaming, then its a really nice OS, but i feel that Vista still need to mature some more before I would consider installing it again.

I am a gamer, so I will do a few tests on Vista.

Could you please provide me the link to the Bisoncam drivers.

    Thanks

I own a D900k and recently purchased vista, any assistance you could give me as for what drivers you used would be greatly appreciated.

I'll wait until the dust clears. Rule of thumb is to wait for SP1....but without you early adopters, we would not find the issues. I just don't feel like being a bunny at the moment...lol

My general thought towards upgrade to Vista is how Albsterama has put it...wait for SP1. That's when I upgraded to XP was after the first service pack release, and I think that would be the best bet here. With the first release of ANY OS there will be some incompatibility issues. Not to mention, tons of software out there is still trying to get switched over so it can run on Vista. So give it some time. In a few months they will have the SP1 release and also have many more programs compatible with Vista. I also will perhaps have the money saved up for it then!

Maybe what I would do when I first upgrade to Vista is create a dual-boot system with XP and Vista. One I know everything is pretty solid running on the Vista, I can erase the XP partition after transfering everything and just keep it going in Vista.

Vista really has me puzzled though, and quite curios. I've heard all spectrums of the scale on its performance, from being quite a artistic upgrade with wonderful new features and security, to "caused me to turn my desktop into a doorstop for now." I have a couple friends who got copies and like bits and pieces and dislike bits and pieces. I guess it's just all up to the user's preferences and, more importantly, what they will use it for.

Well, The only real problem I had was with the camera driver, prevented the laptop from shutting down, so I had to kill it., waiting for that one from Biscon. took me three days to find that out.

All other Vista drivers worked Ok, from what I remember, if you go thru the process , keep me updated, things will come back to me.

Oh..I used the vista drivers for the D900K from the Sager Website.

I just saw a new cam driver listed also, I will try that one too.
