I have both and the Cryo wins every time. This thing is just sooo big. But then again it is pretty load. Louder then 9262. So u get the noise from 9262 and then noise from the Cryo so I gets pretty load. Zalman on the other hand is sooooo quiet but it wont cool down your best as good as the Cryo does.

both coolers blow air up, so the zalman is not blowing in the wrong direction. The cryo is bigger, noisier and has more airflow, the zalman is smaller, quieter and still has decent airflow. Your choice.

I personally like the zalman as it blows air over the whole base of my notebook, thus cooling the hdd, ram and chipset at the front as well as the cpu and gpu at the back.

Yea, I can't comment on the cryo, but i know the zalman cools EVERYTHING. I needed sumtin to cool my HDD, cuz i have one of those rele hot 7200s :-/
This brings that down from an average 55 to average 35!!... it keeps processor at <40, no load. My GPU never has heating problems during COD4 or Supreme COmmander, or bioshock. (its a 7950, so those games on max do stress a bit). Plus the zalman is quieter than the D901c's normal fan rate. So you dont hear the zalman at all. I would say go with the zalman.

OK then maybe the Zalman..i mean D901C fans look to be pretty good already. If the Zalman cools everything ill go for this one then. Thanks all for your advices.

for 9262? lay a box fan on it's back, and set the 9262 on the grid. If you don't game that hard, a Zalman will do. :D :D

I have the Zalman. Can't complain. And it's VERY quiet - almost too quiet lol even if I put its fans at full throttle.

The chart below shows the results of various runs attempting to determine which is the best cooler for a Clevo. The machine was a 9262 equivalent custom built for me by OverDrive PC with a Xeon quadcore X3360 at 2.83 Ghz and a Nvidia 1600M graphics card.

This was intentionally a relative test to compare the four cooling options. It will not tell you whether you will fry your notebook if you overclock or should try to game for hours with the laptop on a pillow. This is also not a review of the specific coolers. There are lots of reviews on the site of the specific two coolers.

The methodology was to do multiple runs in a very temperature stable and temperature uniform area, which is my outside office that is uniformly warmed by the sun in the morning but once the Sun goes over the top of the tall stucco house, it is a shaded patio with uniform stucco and concrete surfaces. The weather was ideal for the test. The air temperature was uniform at 80 degress F (+ or -1 ) across all of the runs as measured by four electronic probe thermometers placed around the laptop. Radiation temperature off of the walls and the metal and glass table was uniform at 78 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit as measured by IR thermometer. There was nothing on the table but the laptop. The power supply and a second 1920x1200 monitor was on a second RAM mount five feet from the laptop and monitored by another thermometer to make sure there was no thermal interference.

Gophin's Clevo FAQ states that some people doubt the efficacy of an external cooler. My conclusion is that the external cooler while helpful, does not make as big a difference as making sure that the area around the notebook allows for adequate ventilation. The Clevo cooling is quite impressive as you can see from these runs. The most important cooling action with a Clevo laptop is to make sure that there is clear space around the ventilation vents.

Low blade mass fans become very inefficient if there is any back pressure whatsoever. Using a probe thermometer, the temperature of the air at the exhaust vents reached 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The IR thermometer measurement for the temperature of the keyboard reached 104°F maximum.

The table below has temperature in Centigrade
