    Hi all.
I have 2 questions that i hope you ppl can answer.

Can anyone tell me of a official site that displays the latest d901C bios for download?

Under (vista ultimate 64) administrative Tools->EventViewer-> SystemLogs, there is a warning "The speed of processor 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report." it goes for all the cores 0,1,2,3, can anyone tell me why that happens and if that is a problem?

    Thankx ;)

    Bios is 1.00.20 and K firmware 1.00.12N

But the question is...if there is any site that we can check for the latest one or even better a historic of all the bios versions released so far.

I knew that there were a french site wich has the same table as clevo.tw has but in wich there were also the bios...althought i can't find it anymore

the riko has that info if im not mistaken.
and the lastest version is 1.00.22
    1.00.13n

but also try this..go and remove all your cpu drivers from device manager and then reboot computer. see if it re detects them and adds them back to the device tree. it may be as simple as that...

Have you tried updating your chipset drivers?

are you using an external monitor?
    is your cpu overheating?
when was the last time you cleaned the vents?
and the cpu does have some form of compound on it?

Another thought occurs - have you inspected the insides of the thing to verify that the heatsink is fully contacting the CPU, and that thermal solution was properly applied.

This may be some sort of cryptic way for the system to tell you that one of your processing cores is getting too hot, and is being throttled down.

    To: JohnKssss

are you using an external monitor? -> No
is your cpu overheating? -> No
when was the last time you cleaned the vents? -> last week
and the cpu does have some form of compound on it? -> dunno what you mean

    To: Shyster1

Nope no overheating temps from 40-50 in all cores.
Regarding the chipset (and i dunno wich ones i installed before) should i install
the "Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family" or the "Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family" wich are the Desktop version?

I'm going to defer to the rest of the crowd, but since the system uses desktop chipsets, I would think that you would install the desktop chipset drivers.

Check on the Clevo website to see what driver they're listing.

from the reading im getting...a few say bios but the majority say over heating and it's downgrading the cpu performance. so as shyster suggested...i would at least check the heat sink.

gl1tch dont worry i look into my event logs and find same thing this is just the Intel SpeedStep.
This is Desktop CPU thats why windows tell you this because this proccessor dont use SpeedStep only in this platform

hey, your right. it's there big as day!

now im really going to have to investigate. mine isn't so often, but i see it..right there.

edit: i think i know why.
seems to happen to me when my display driver takes a spike (so to speak) then i get the 71 second slowdown thing.
also it showed up after a few programs initiated a stop.
and at no time where my cards or cpu even remotely close to being hot. max 50c's

man, i hate when i find bunk info on the net!!!!!!!!!!!!!

think im going to have to now side with gangstaone on this one, but ill run some other things to see if that is in fact what's going on....

Thankx a lot for all that info, gangstaone you are the one :D and i am "happy" to know that i am not the only one with the same "problem".

I do have some more warnings on Clevo D901c (not on that machine right now) something like Kerebros could0't start and something about IP security policy...
all of them in Event->System tab i would confirm later
