SO, guys as many of you know, I've been complaining for months, OMG, pixelated lines, my video is annoying me! in games and stuff. WATS WRONG!! Props to a Wu Jen for a PM he sent me saying he thinks its a crimped video cable. YOU are SO right!.... I went ahead and continued to complain to my reseller about how much i paid, and they sent me a new cable. AND guess wat. YOU CAN REPLACE IT TOO!! thanks to me :D

READY, get ur screw driver, and a flat surface, maybe a piece of paper to mark screws and where they go. AND ALWAYS REMOVE THE BATTERY BEFORE TAKING APART. and try not to touch the circuits with your hands, oils are not good for pc.

    TO BEGIN
-Remove the 8 screws of your lid (red circles on lid)
-pop off the lid, dont be afraid to use A LITTLE force... oooh look at the pretty circuits and the inverter at the bottom (which i also replaced before realizing it was the cable >_<)
-Next, pop off the keyboard (all this takes is to push up four little tabs at the top of the keyboard.
    -gently disconnect the keyboard.
-Next you'll see a plate under the keyboard, there are only two screws to remove here, one in the top left, and one in the middle top.
    - NExt, remove the top panel which houses the 3 buttons and the power botton, no need to unscrew anything here.
WALLAA you have arived at the below picture!

    NOW, to replace vid. cable!!!
-unscrew the 6 screws (3 on each side of the LCD) and the Screen will loosen from the brackets... BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS EXPENSIVE SCREEN. when you remove the LCD you'll see the connecter at the top back of the LCD, just remove the tape holding it down and pull that sucker out.
-one last hitch, to remove the vid cable, you'll notice its pinned down by the hinge joint, that only requires one screw to take out (see below)
    - thats the damn hinge joint which crimped ur cable.
    - by this time you'll have realized that the connection at the left is for the video cable, the one on the right goes to the inverter.
-also keep in mind that the microphone is attched to the video cable.
-remember to do this all very slowly and keep track of screws and tape down everything the way it was.

THERE YOU HAVE IT BOYS... this is the first post, so ill update and fix as people comment. SOrry i couldnt get more pix, but, i was kinda in a rush.
+rep if this helps in general as it is an exploded view of the PC

NEXT GUIDE: Cleaning the fans (so much easier to do) with pics of the bottom and how to remove the fans. to get to the mat of dust thats prolly heating your computer by blocking the heatsink :D.
W00t woot... i wanted to get this up for so long, finally help all those who helped me!

Doodles, that has to be the scariest picture I have ever seen. It makes my inner man-boy wince.

But at least everything worked out in the end. :D

DId you ever fix it Wu Jen? or ur just living with it? Plus, i noticed others had this problem so i decided to give back. Looking at the post it actually does look a lil' hard to understand if someone wasnt computer saavy and tried to follow my instructions >_<

Actually I've been living with it. I was going to wait until I get my beast upgraded then get it all fixed at the same time. Seems like a number of the older D901C's all had this problem. Mine has been getting progressively worse though. I can hold out another month or two until the 9800's are released.

I don`t think the 9800`s are getting released in a month,it`d be too good.

Good post; it should help others. Only suggestion I would add is: I've found that using a sheet of styrofoam or corrugated cardboard makes it a lot easier to keep track of screws and such because you can sketch a diagram on the styrofoam/cardboard beforehand, and then push each screw into the styrofoam at the location on the diagram that corresponds to its location on the computer.

Yeah, but you'd be amazed at what you'll do for the sake of necessity. By now, I think I can dismantle this stinky little vaio blindfolded.

Nah, I need my ears to hold the extra screws that fall out each time - sorta like spare socks in the dryer. :D

yea well, shyster says it good. this thing was pissing me off so freaking much. plus rambo, your scaring the noobs who might actually try to fix it themselves. I guarantee the HARDEST part is just remember where all the screws go in the end. Thats it. and remember to go slowly, cuz then you may break a few things lol. As a computer nerd I took this thing apart the day i got it. Its wat i do with all my computers just to check if everything is in right and cuz i luv to see how everything works. I still act like a 5 yr old i kno.
