i just got a D9t today. it boots into Bios, but the Screen has a bunch of vertical lines. when i use a Dvi to Vga adapter the screen shows up fine. the bios seems pretty basic. when i boot it, it POSTs then displays a message
CONFLICT :pCI on motherboard device:04 Function:00, then gives me the option to go into The Bios or continue, i was able to get a disc with Windows Xp to start, it doesnt have a hard drive, so i couldnt continue.

I the a cable that i can use to use Sata Hdd with this or am i stuck with IDE?

    thanks

First, your problem is directly related to the LCD ribbon cable. You will need to clean the end of the ribbon cable with rubbing alcohol. Than dry the cable, and reinsert it into the LCD female connection. Than apply tape to keep the cable in place.
You will need to locate the other end of the cable.
That end is under the keyboard. Remove the keyboard. There are 4 small tabs above the keyboard, which you need to depress with a small flathead screwdriver.
Once removed, you need to remove that black bezel piece with the caps lock lights.
In the left side is a 30 or so pin cable. Disconnect and reconnect. You may need to use a plastic pen cap to make sure all of the little connections are made.

There is a SATA cable available. I sold my last spare a while ago. You are able to run SATA 150 drives in this laptop. Unfortunately AMD models 5.1 and newer support SATA 300, and Intel motherboard model 6.8 and newer support SATA 300. All models earlier only support SATA 150.

When you get the LCD issue fixed, get into the BIOS and reset it. That should correct the error message you are getting
