    Hello.

I'm having again trouble with my M570RU "GJOD - green jack of death", so I'l try to speak to my reseller and get a M570RU-U in the place of my M570RU, because I'd liketo have a 8800M GTX installed and those motherboards woud have no poblems with Sleep/Suspend :) .

But will it fit, or do I need to order a new laptop case or something else?

I need that info to make rough calculations of the expenses, and to know what can/need to be changed, to avoid problems (that something woudn't fit or that way)?
I hope you understood what I mean't to say :)
    Thanx!

Are you saying you want to order a M570RU-U motherboard to be put in your M570RU and you want to know if it would fit?

The "M570RU-U" has "extreme edition" written on it and has better cooling (for the 8800mGTX). It's a different chassis because of this, so I'm not sure if you should try putting U-U mobo in a U because of heat.

Edit: now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure "M570RU-U" had something to do with Extreme procs, so I might be wrong with the 8800mGTX explanation; though it is still an issue of heat/cooling.

^^ The M570RU-U chassis is updated with a modified bottom to house Core 2 X9000 and has OC options in the BIOS (for CPU).

So I woud have to change the chassis as well together with the motherboard, right? :)

Is there something else, or are these the major important differences, so if it woud be possible to change than I think it woud be better to choose a M570RU-U :)

you do not have to change motherboard to install a 8800M GTX.

many people with even the first revision motherboards have successfully upgrade to 8800M GTX with no issues.

you can install the 8800gtx and any proc up to x9000 in any of the 570ru's and all you need is the newest bios (1.00.08) and it'll run fine. You won't get the bios overclock options for the x9000 if you don't have the ru-u board though

U can get the OC option even without the RU-U MB(Rev. 5.X). I´ve tried Rev. 4.1 & 4.4, no problem.

I stand corrected. I wouldn't necessarily want to OC it without the EE chassis, as mine gets quite warm even with the bigger heatsink

How much performance gain is there fro T7700 (2.4GHz) to the X9000 anyway? Is it worth it? (in a regular 570RU chassis)

CPU performance is usually not noticed much after the 2.4GHz mark (in a current dual core)... you would only notice it in multi-threaded programs like audio/video conversion/editing/mixing or rendering.

I suppose going from 2.4 to 2.8 (even with a latrger cache) is going to net you at besty 10% performance most of the time. (I wasn't aware we couldjump over tohe X line though.. if the prices come down, why not?)

What about the rumoured Penrn XE dual 3GHz? It had a faster FSB or somesuch, so probably incompatible when it comes?
