When you extract the driver files, you also have to download the modded .inf (from the same laptopvideo2go forum post) and overwrite the old inf in the folder where you extracted the files, then run setup.exe.

once ur in that forum release of the driver.. rite on the top it says driver|modded inf...
just click on that and it will ask u DL a nv_disp file... which is the modded inf.
once u extract the driver.. replace.. and go

edit: oh i see wat u did now... just cuz its not listed next to it on the table doesnt mean its not there... u have to click on the driver first to open up the forum release part.

The thing you download from lv2g is an archive with a bunch of files, including the inf and setup.exe. Double-click it, extract those files to some folder, copy the modded inf that you downloaded, and paste it in the folder where you extracted the files. It's that simple.

Put the new .INF file into the setup directory before running setup.exe. You can probably use any INF file for 169.04 or later. The INF just associates your hardware with specific files in the driver.

Once they figure out what files are used for a 8700M GT, it's not likely to change unless the driver adds/removes files.

They removed the 64-bit INF file -- but I posted a link to it in another topic. You can still get it with a little searching.

I'm still at the 169.04 driver. I haven't built up the energy to try the newer 169.11 driver.

    If you go here:

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=171843

It explains the INF file and what needs to be changed to make it work for your laptop. Most of this information was pullled from release notes from Nvidia a while back. But they started closing up the information. Both of these methods work I usually do my own just becuase I can but I have useed the INF from LaptopVideo2Go when I was and they work as well.

Also if you really want to figure it out and have little to do on those sleepless nights you can compare the files and see what changes have been made.
