Hello everyone,
Back in July I ordered the 2090 from XoticPC. I loved it, but for some unknown reason, it bricked on me today. I turned it on, and while it was powering on the BIOS screen showed with the usual logo, and then it turned itself on. Upon turning it on again, nothing happens. Nothing goes to the screen, nothing loads, and there is no hard drive activity. I was visiting my parents for Thanksgiving at the time (I'm a student), so we went out together and bought me another laptop in the mean time, which will ultimately go to my dad later once I get my Sager repaired or replaced under warranty.
I wish I had time to trouble-shoot the thing, but since I don't, and tampering with it would just void the warranty, I've got no choice but to send it back. So, my questions is this: who should I be contacting; XoticPC or Sager? and, does anyone have experience with a situation like this and how the quality of customer service is when dealing with these companies and such a situation?

contact XoticPC first, to ask if they can suggest anything, then they will tell you to send it to Sager if needed.
I would suggest to remove the battery, and try to power it on with just AC power. -
I tried it in all those configurations in regards to the battery. I guess I'll just contact XoticPC then.

Yeah contact extoic pc not sager it is not there problem yet. I have never really trusted Compal IFL 90 too much much rather get a dell instead because of these kinda of problems occurring(not like the dell not having it but still). Anyway just curious what did you guys get for your dad?

We got an HP Pavilion dv2000. My dad doesn't know much about computers and just needs something that works, and this one seemed decent for the price, and I have a few friends with them and they seem to like them.

I have one too not bad, graphics are not that good, thinking about getting Alienware M17X when it comes out. But the Dv6000 is my school laptop. But yeah contact Xotic PC right away do not wait, I believe tehy are not outsorced so you will have luck with your problem.

Wait are you going to change your sig?

Your going to give up on your 2090 that fast ? What about the thousands of bricked Dells and HP's that are out there ? You think those company's would supply the quality support you are about to receive from Xotic or Sager. Your 2090 is a machine and things happen to them, unfortunately you might need to utilize one of the features you got with your 2090... A good warranty. I purchased my 2090 because of the reviews and saw many with issues but the experience they had with turn around was fantastic. I don't think you will have any problems and you will have your 2090 back in no time.
Good luck and let us know how you make out. -
Don't get me wrong; I'm not "giving up" on my Sager. I love the thing, and I just happened to be an unlucky victim of circumstance...some part in it died, somehow. The only reason that I got another laptop so soon is because I likely won't be getting my Sager back for a month or so (hopefully it won't be any longer than that...) and being a student/computer addict I cannot live without some sort of computer. I'm only lucky my laptop died when I was visiting my parents and I was actually able to get another laptop for school... had it died in the middle of the academic quarter, things would have been much worse.
And no, I'm not going to change my sig! Haha. Proud owner of a...temporarily disabled 2090. -
Got my 2090 back a few days ago. (Well, sorta. It's repaired, but I don't have it. It was shipped to my parents house, so I'll have it when I return home from college during winter break.)
Apparently the mobo was what went out on it (makes sense, since I got not bios menu or anything upon turning it on.) All my files are such are fine though. Thanks for everyone's help.
Dead Sager 2090.
