So I noticed a dead pixel on my 2 month old clevo today. After restart, however, it has since disappeared.

Thankfully I did have a warranty that included a 90 day dead pixel guarantee.

Was the dead pixel likely just a temporary error in the screen, or will it come back?

Run a dead pixel check program and see if it is maybe partially damaged But if it's gone for now you wont be able to return it.

It could have just been a stuck pixel. If it comes back, you could try massaging it with a dull point, like a stylus or something.

On the topic of dead pixels, I was wondering if Clevo/Sager are really good on their warranties? I was looking at Asus laptops and know they have a zero dead pixel warranty, which in practice in fine print is really 5 or more dead pixels before it warrants a repair/RMA or whatever.

For me, I had 3 or 4 stuck/dead/whatever pixels when my laptop came. I was able to get them all working perfectly by massaging them with the cleaning cloth that came with the laptop.

Sager will cover you with 5 total or one in the middle. If you make a tic-tac-toe board on the screen and its in the middle one a single one is covered.
The Asus Zero bright pixel will cover you if you have a stuck pixel but do require more dead pixels before its covered.

Testing on a software level will give you some indication of dead pixels, but bear in mind that "there's only a slim chance that all of these will be perfect; more likely, some will be stuck on (creating a "bright" defect) or off (resulting in a "dark" defect)."
