    Dear Sager,
Please release the P150SM. You know why I'm writing this. Most of us don't like the flashy graphics on our notebooks, and if we did, why would we only want it on our trackpad? Sure we could buy the P170SM or the P151SM, but lets face it, the 170 is just a little too big for some of us and the 151, well, it has a small you know what :). For a lot of us, the 150 is just the perfect notebook. I promise your sales would increase by a good amount if you would only release the 150. I know your re-sellers would appreciate the increase in profits. We'll be waiting to hear the good news.

    Sincerly,

It's more or less up to Clevo than it is Sager, I think.

I dunno if that's true though. Some of the Clevo resellers have them, only seems Sager doesn't and any barebone/clevo resellers that get the stock actually from Sager (as they don't have of course). Clevo is indeed pushing the new lineup more as it cost more to have to runs going with similar hardware just different case but too many mistakes got made on the new lineup. They shouldn't have made larger and weigh more, if anything should have been built smarter... 3 years in a row you have exact same design just about, maybe it was time to improve other things instead of worrying about how to make a flashy case most don't like... bahh..

well the extra weight and dimensions is due to the second 2.5" drive bay, which actually expands the functionality rather than it being purely design-based @bling bling ;)

Its not that they are pushing it, they've advised people to get the P1x7's as they've said that the P1x7's (The 7 part) are the "gamer" series and so all the guys selling gamer laptops should get those. So thats what companies did.. We have the P150SM's and its been doing pretty well. So its not that you can't get them :)

If you don't mind me asking, which model you seem to be selling more of (is more popular)?

IF I had a store I could walk up to and look at both who knows, I might not mind the blind edition too bad but going by pictures and videos so far I rather the professional look.

Obviously we can't give you sales numbers, but generally the 157 is doing a little bit better, but to the photogs, video guys, and visual effects people its the Non 157's all day long.. We do see the backlit trackpad turn-off option is quite popular for people who just don't want the trackpad backlit but want all the rest of the features.

Sager does offer the two versions on the 17.3", as Mythlogic mentioned they see more of the bling 15.6" being ordered and we do see more of the bling 17.3" then non bling. Not quite the motivation to add the non bling 15.6". Still not ruling it out though as there are people who would like it.

FWIW, the bling on the P157SM kept me away from it this year

Seems to be a trend. ;) How do you like your W110ER in your signature (or is that not yours)?

funny though, contrary to what people keep saying here the bling versions are more popupar according to the resellers :p all those non-nbr noobs? ;) or maybe its fashionable to publicly dislike the bling, but still buy it in secret :D

Loved it. Good size, good performance. My pet peeve is noise emissions and the W110ER is very good at handling them. The screen doesn't fit my needs anymore though. Resolution is too low for serious productivity. I can't lug my external monitor everywhere I go ;)

Part of that is because for starts the bling version is cheaper and next the non-bling is harder to get and not sold in as many places :/

Doesn't the the P157SM have something extra, drive bay? :p Turning off the bling,an option now, essentially gets you a P150SM with an extra drive bay, albeit 7mm. Seems like the better choice for the anti bling crowd, if the money is close.

The P370SM isn't out or is it? Some builders/resellers won't offer it, as I understand. Then there's the 3D model too. I might consider the 375 and have the trackpad and strobe/audio lights turned off.

Only the people who want the non bling are asking for it. The people who like or dont mind the bling versions arent posting about it cause they can get what they want.

The bling versions weigh more and are larger also, it's not just about the bling for me.

The extra bay for most isn't that important anymore with multiple mSata you can now use those and still have a large storage drive, on top of optical pay replacement for drive still...

Popular option if you arent going to upgrade past the 770M and dont care for a backlit keyboard. Once you have a backlit keyboard you can't go back.

Is it really even worth it? I mean if I went with the 8250 etc...I´d only really be able to upgrade to say the 780M, and it´d probably be some $400, upgrading a GPU for a laptop is very expensive. Don´t you think?

It depends on the games you play, what settings you like to play at, and how many FPS you'll be happy with.
Comparing benchmarks on 3D mark Vantage according to notebookcheck.com the 770M averages 18826 and the 780M 27286, thats a ~45% increase. That will make current games run better and will run future games better giving you more time before you want to replace it.

Plus, if the 780M is much like the 680M, it has very nice potential for overclocking, which helps with performance and even future proofing all the more.

It's very impressive and I think the actual gaming experience will be a greater impact as the extra memory bandwidth will help with those minimum frame rates.
