I'm on the edge over which to purchase. They both will have the same specs but for $179 extra I can get a 560m over the 555m GPU and 8GB RAM over 4GB. If that was all it came down to, I'd pay the extra and get the NP8130.
The problem I have is deciding whether the extra battery life on the NP5165 from Optimus is worth it. The one less pound would be nice too. I can't decide whether to sacrifice some power for the extra portability.
What I think it comes down to, and this is where I need your opinions, is which model has a better build quality. Do either of these have any risk for heat issues that will shorten the longevity? Or any other reported problems that would make the other a safer buy?
Thanks in advance.

The 8130 has a better cooling system in my opinion.
Ask yourself, do you need more than ~3 hours of battery life at any given time? If so, get the 5165. If not, and you want the extra power, get the 8130.
Personally, I went with the 8130 (p151hm1) because I will be able to find an outlet within 3 hours if I take my laptop with me somewhere, and if I need something *truly* portable and not so powerful I could always buy a netbook or tablet later on.
Also, the step from 555m to 560m is quite large, which was another reason I chose the P151HM1 myself. -
for future usage graphic card and CPU should be the first thing to purchase.
Anyway if you will use some strong programs in your computer then you need AC connection which makes battery useless -

Now the 8130 is a louder system, and as mentioned, it is a bit bulkier. However, those are tradeoffs I've been more than willing to make since the 8130 is such a solid performer. -
It comes down to whether you value battery life over raw performance.
There's a nearly 40% gap between this particular 555M, and the 560M. -
Thanks, I think I'm going to go with the NP8130. The performance increase is probably worth losing an hour or so of battery life, and I do like my notebook to run cooler (my XPS 1530 prematurely died from overheating I think). -
Also, a quick question for anyone who can answer it. I've noticed when configuring, the option for a hybrid harddrive with 4GB NAND Flash. How does that work? Does it just make startup noticeably faster, or does it speed the harddrive up as a whole?
