One thing about the Sager/Clevo/Asus laptops that I've been seeing bug me. Volume control buttons.

I absolutely hated about my old Latitude 110L was having to press the Fn key, then another button to adjust volume, switch songs, whatever. On my Inspiron 1520, where the buttons for volume, play, forward/back, and stop are right in front, its so much better. Especially during gaming; can just press forward or back to switch songs on Xion instead of minimizing the game to do so.

Having the headphone jack, which I'd use to plug in speakers, right in front also seems awkward. The few I've seen seem to have that configuration.

Basically what I'm wondering is if any of the Sager/Clevo/Asus laptops have dedicated volume/media controls ala Inspiron or 1530 (or hp, if they have 'em; wouldn't know).

The NP9262 makes you use a Fn key plus another key to adjust volume. I believe the same applies for the NP5796, and the NP8660.

For me it makes no difference, because I've got my MX Revolution configured so that the side mouse wheel is responsible for volume control. The Search button on the mouse is play/pause.
