I've had a Clevo W870CU / Sager NP8760 for slightly over a year and I'm on my 3rd replacement battery (part model no. W860BAT-3). Every battery has had the same problem. The inside surface where the part and warning stickers are eventually starts to bulge out like an inflating balloon. I don't know if this has any effect but I have the habit of always unplugging my laptop when not in use and I rarely leave it running on battery power. Pretty much the only time the battery is used is when I move my laptop in between rooms.

Is there a design flaw in this laptop model or battery or am I just being terribly unlucky in replacements?

    hi and welcome to nbr
ive heard of a couple of battery expand like that but not 3 in a year.
if you dont use the battery much its always advisable to remove it when not in use to prolong its life.
are you still covered by warranty. if so the battery is covered.
best to contact your supplier for advise.
