I would expect 13-14k stock.
1)Yep,any 16:9 resolution will be fine(1680x1050, 1440x900, etc) but the lower you go , the more pixelated the screen will look. You can stay at WUXGA(1920x1200) and increase the DPI like I did.
2) I think the 9800M GTs are backordered, but the D901C may be also?!
Smartest choice is a RAID 0 for performance with high risk of data loss, or RAID 1 for fast access times and regular write speeds, with the advantage of having all the data mirrored on the second drive, but from the 2 drives only one is accessible, the second acting as a backup.

Your the best KillerNotebooks
You will be hearing from me very soon
Thanks!
Do you guys offer TV Tuners? -
This is sort off the topic but Does anybody have or use a TV tuner for this notebook?
How does it work?
Is the picture clear? is it worth it? -
KillerNotebooks Notebook Consultant
There are tv tuners, yes. They have them for the D901C and the 570TU. Are they worth it? Up to you. I think there are some less expensive USB systems out there that are just as good. The picture on either one is very good. I think they are about $110 or $130 if I remember right (w/o looking it up). One cool thing is that the remote is shaped like the ExpressCard54 cards so it slides right into the ExpressCard slot.

Sorry... just wanna off-topic for a while...XD
I am considering to have a D901C
I was thinking which graphic card to go for, but i have a question
Aftering reading past threads, I understand that I could go for a single 9800M GTX now, and buy another one later on to SLI by myself. But if they are just 2 9800M GTX with a SLI cable, what makes it different in having it later, but not now? (SLI is new to me, sorry for asking silly questions)
I do not understand why I can only upgrade it to SLI later, not now, by buying an identical card + SLi cable. is it a drive issue or something else?
Thanks -
It could be a motherboard issue, the current one might not support the GTX in SLI.
That's my best guess anyways. -
GPUs in SLi is a little bit like using two cars, but only one driver, to tow a really, really big trailer. Each car by itself works just fine - it drives, it burns gas, you can steer it no problem, it has a trailer hitch, etc, etc.
However, when you go to yoke them together so that they'll (a) both be pulling the same trailer at the same time and (b) be steered by the same individual, you realize that there are brand-new issues that have to be worked out before the plan will work, even though separately each car works just fine.
In a nutshell, SLi raises the same sorts of problems that have to be resolved, even if each GPU by itself works perfectly well in the machine in question.
So, not being an NVidia or Clevo insider, I would guess that the first thing they do is make sure that they can even get just one card to work in the system. That they appear to have done. Next, after that, they must sit down, go back to, say, square one-and-a-half, and start rejiggering everything to see if they can now get two GPUs - each of which works separately - to play nice together in the same sandbox.
It's a driver issue, almost certainly. I'm tired of constantly rehashing the reason why there won't be a motherboard change, so I'll just say that I'm betting $100 there won't be a motherboard change. -

IKAS V - Keep in mind the Internal TV Tuner are not Digital for these models. So after the first of next year you wouldn't be able to use it once TV goes digital.
-
IKAS - Get this USB one that Sager offers. I'm sure you can find it elsewhere, too.

Hey Justin, I still can't get on your website without having to go through a proxy server. Even then, it's awfully slow to load up. It must be a Comcast thing, but they deny it being so. I did a clean sweep and uninstalled my antivirus and anti-spywares to no avail. I give up. -
thanks in advance. -
Thanks everyone!
That's what I love about this forum you through a question out there and BAM! You get your answers.
Shyster you are probably right it most likely is a driver issue,
I was just using my feeble noob brain..LOL
I am pretty sure you are much more informed than I am! -
Just one man's opinion, of course. -
Most games will be ok at higher settings, except for CRYSIS of course.I think I know why they named "CRY"SIS what it is, because it brings most rigs to there knees. But I would be perfectly comfortable at playing games at a slightly less resolution to gain performance.

Anybody go to Eurocome's web site and see the option for Dual GTX cards in SLI.
Then I noticed the price for it, a little over $1200....WTF.
If that's any indication on how expensive that option is going to be the Dual 9800M GT cards in SLI are starting to look pretty damn good.
Why is Eurocom so expensive? You can get the same configurations for like $1000 less at other sites.Sager,XoticPC,PowerNotebooks blow them away and even KillerNotebbooks which use higher end performance parts is much cheaper.+ I hear great things from all these companies.
Hopefully when the GTX card's in SLI are available that all these company's will have a more reasonable price.
Hey I am willing to spend a little more $$ for my laptops, even for higher performing parts and better speed but at that price you are looking at a good used car. -
You are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to contact Eurocom if you are interested in purchasing from them, and tell them about their pricing as compared to other reputable vendors.
They are getting better at price negotiations in order to price match with another vendors.... in CAD. -
Right now, and I mean IN THIS MOMENT, the 8800M GTX sollution IS ENOUGH to play ANY GAME at high details at 1920x1200.
Whether the future will take a bit toll on that, who knows. -
To all with any experience with dealing with Sager,PowerNotebooks,XoticPC.
How long to order and receive a laptop from these places?Any and all answers are welcome.
What do other companies like Eurocome,Malibal or KillerNotebooks do to warrant a sometimes a $1000-$2000 price difference?
Install better/faster components?Higher end parts? I know that most builders add there own touches to them to them but c'mon why the extra money if they basiccally use the same parts. Or do they?
My basic question is.Lets say I order a laptop from each Co, and open them all up are they all going to have the same components/parts in them?Or the same configuration just with there own parts in them?
I do know that the pricier Co. offer custom paint jobs and things like that, but none of those things interest me.The "plain old" stock finish works for me.
The thing is that the first 3 companies basically are about $100-$200 apart from each other for the configuration I want.Somebody please tell me that they are all the same and made equal to ease my mind. Please no haters out there with gripes against these companies I just want to know about the inner workings of these laptops.Like do they use the same HD,Ram,sound cards etc, etc, etc.
KillerNotebooks now offers the Q9650 and the others do not, does this thing give any substantial edge over the Q9550?
I can't really justify paying so much more $$ if I do not really have to(especially if all the Co. use the same exact parts)
Last but not least all the above companies I E-mailed have been great and answered all my questions but I forgot to ask about the upgraded processor. So any answers to this would be much appreciated.
Let me say again all the above companies have been great and really helpful so please No fanboy rantings just honest opinions. -
As to the Q9650, Sager and the Sager resellers are very likely to begin offering that CPU shortly, once Clevo/Sager state that it's supported. Killernotebooks is not a Sager reseller (I don't know where they source their Clevos from, either directly from Clevo or through an importer), and as far as I know they do their own final assembly (and customization if requested); as a result, they don't necessarily march to the same tune as xoticpc and powernotebooks.
My understanding is that Eurocom is a separate Clevo importer (in Canada) so they do their own final assembly and customization; one reason why their prices may vary from the others is on account of the US/Canada exchange rate.
As far as companies like Malibal, Hypersonic, and etc, again, I don't know where they source their Clevos from, but generally those systems are not Sagers. Also, their premium pricing tends to be the same sort of premium as one pays for perfume - more for name and image than for underlying components. Supposedly, they claim to do a more thorough, personalized build and burn-in, but I don't have any context for evaluating those claims. -
So basically you get the same exact systems/parts from XoticPC and PowerNotebooks is if you directly ordered from Sager and if I ordered one from all 3 companies all the parts and components will be exactly the same in each one.
The other specialty shops do basically the same thing but tweak the parts for added performance.
Thanks Shyster! -
For the most part, if you ordered a laptop with identical specs from each company, the only difference will be....not much. I know Killernotebooks actually does some custom heatsink mods which imo seems pretty cool and actually works. Some places will do some tweaks to the bios to make things a little faster. But again for the majority, its all the same stuff inside. If in doubt or you have some questions, call the dealer and make sure you get a tech or someone who knows what they are talking about and ask. I have read that Eurocom does some price matching if you call them and I have seen a rep from them post on this forum, though not in awhile. Xotic and Powernotebooks are the majority shareholders here.

Great news!Sort of off the subject will a same configuration as yours but with 9800M GT SLI put up the same 3DMarks06 numbers?Because that's what I was thinking of getting. -
You should post higher scores, or really close to the same as mine. Hrm, I haven't done a driver update in awhile...
-
with xp it is usually higher. but this is only a synthetic benchmark what u really need to test it with is games like Crysis UT3 COD 4 etc to get a real feel for the capabilities -
Tried CRYSIS in my old rig. and got sick of because of the slow frame rate.
How surprising!HUH!
I'm sure it will play much better on my on my NEW rig.....
Just placed a order for the NP 9262 SLI!(YES!!)
Q 9550
4 gb of RAM
3x 200 HD in Raid 0
Just waiting to get a E-mail from PowerNotebooks back.
I decided I couldn't wait for the GTX in SLI to come out.(Who really knows when it's actually coming)
Plus I have noticed the prices dropping at some sites so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally bite the bullet.
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON IT!!!!!....LOL -
You did the right think IKAS, plus you've not actually shut off the highly probable possibility of upgrade later if necessary.
So let me heartily say...CONGRATS!May this beauty bring you many years of hapiness

Is O/C safe?
Is it worth it on the Q9550?I wonder if I can upgrade to the Q9650 if it's available?
One of the reasons I picked the Q9550 was to leave everything as is and not O/C, I don't want to end up frying my laptop.
You only get like .17 Ghz improvent on a Q9650 is that worth the extra $$?
I am guessing you would not see much or any improvement for gaming but I could be wrong.
What do you guys think stick with the Q9550 or get the Q9650 if it's available? -
No, I don't think O/C would be safe but I think it would be fun to do.
Just wait and see if and when there are more blackscreen topics on this forum.
Bud I’m still a noob in O/C. -
Yeah me too
Welcome!
Hey anybody want to increase my Rep Power?please.
I am tired of just seeing a 1 next to it
Thanks -
+1 for picking the correct notebook
-
Hmm, for some reason it doesn't show up...sorry
-
WOW! THANKS tlaube
I didn't think anybody would actually do it..LOL
But I really appreciate it. -
Here's one rep for asking the questions about the different brands of parts from different Clevo resellers... was very useful for me… and some other questions you asked about the 9262 -
Reputation is a complicated system. Here is the wherefore and why of how it works:
-
How do i get to the UserCP?
And when does it become light/dark green? -
User CP...FAQ...Image Gallery...New Posts...Search...Quick Links...Log Out
The public rep level boxes initially turn dark green (which I believe you already have) and then turn bright green when you've accumulated enough points.
There's a certain amount of fun watching your rep count - but only if you've been making an honest effort to contribute to the forum with constructive posts; unfortunately, the rep system's been severely tightened up because it was being abused by certain members. Unfortunately, the whole thing is too mechanical and is therefore more akin to a popularity measure than a true rep measure.
