I flashed with Eurocom 6990 bios, updated the EC and have latest bios and it starts to boot, after 30 seconds it starts to beep, LEDs flash and fans go full. Then it shuts down. Any ideas? I thought these cards were compatable?

I did that. It will do the same thing if I open the bios screen and leave it. Its somehow not compatible with something. Not sure what the beeping means, or the fact the fans spin up full speed.

Can you confirm whether it's just 30 seconds after it begins to boot that fans go full, or is it after the OS is loading a specific driver? Would it happen if you booted on a generic bootable Linux or something that didn't have a specific driver loaded?

Either it's highly incompatible, or it's not correctly reporting temperature and it's shutting down for safety....or a driver issue.

It never got to Windows. I thought I had flashed it to the Clevo bios, but apparently it didnt take. When I tried to flash it back to the Dell bios, somehow it flashed it to the Clevo bios and bricked the card. The Dell uses different Vram than Clevo cards. It flashed it to Samasung ram because I saw the screen just before the card rebooted and stopped working. The Dell bios is not compatable with the Racer and the Clevo or Eurocom bios is not compatable with the Dell hardware.

I know hey! I had read of guys running them in some Sager / Clevo type machines and so I didnt think it was going to be an issue at all. It makes you feel pretty sick when you bork a brand new HD6990M

might be worth seeing if one of the dual GPU owners would be willing to put the card in the 2nd slot on there machine and force flash the correct vbios onto the card for you :D
