    Hello,

I can get a 7970m real cheap, the problem is that i cant use it ib my p150em.

I know it boots but after 1 minute it shutdows beeping thinking its overheating because of bios incompability.

My question is (and sorry if it´s already been answered) but can i flash a clevo 7970m bios on this card in under a minute? Anyone tried that?

    Thanks in advance

Not doable in a P150EM. Possible if you used a different laptop for the flashing procedure (i.e. MSI GX740).

maybe you could using an automated autoexec.bat file that takes care of the flashing for you, but the risk is high that if u dont make it in time itll completely brick ur brandnew gpu :p

There is simply not enough time for it to work and I don't think it would be happy even with the other bios on it.

Are you sure it's simply compatibility and not improper paste/heatsink application? I mean, if it makes it past POST, it's not incompatibility, is it?

i think the problem is the P150EM can't read it's sensors from the 7970m due to a non-clevo bios.

Tough call. 60 seconds is a lifetime and yet an instant all at once.

If you could do in another machine would be more ideal, otherwise best we can say is see if someone with a similar card can flash they bios and tell you how long it takes from post and all. Even if flashing same bios ontop just to get est. While flashing always has a risk and some might not want to do for you I don't see any other options.

I honestly "think" you can do it in under 60 seconds IF everything is ready and no problems ran into. have bios set to boot of USB right away and auto fire the flash, however it's possible the flash brick the card, or not fix the problem at all still. None of us can promise you anything.

Whatever you decide though please let us know to help out

Card's really don't tend to behave well with a different company vbios anyway.
