Looks like MSI to me. But I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to these things, after all, I own an Alienware ;)

The circular speaker grilles definitely scream MSI. I'm 95% sure.

I think I'm going to stay away from this computer then. Not that I don't trust the company, but I just cannot have it failing on me during the school year.

Pegatron is the manufacturing arm of Asus.

The initial name of Asus was supposed to be Pegasus :).

Nope, ASUS split up into ASUS, ASUSTek and Pegatron years ago. Then they sold off Pegatron.

ASUS is huge and does all their own manufacturing now. ASUSTek is their low end brand.

Pegatron is off on it's own.

Until 2010, the two largest contractors of Pegatron were Asus and AsusTek - as in 95% Pegatron's money comes from these two companies. And AsusTek owns by far the largest chunk of shares: 25%.

    Read here:
    http://www.pegatroncorp.com/download/GDR_Listing_Particulars.pdf

Even most of their top management comes from AsusTek former employees.

Maybe in legal terms they are a separate entity, but in economic terms... I think I am right.

Asus spun off pegatron, but pegatron is still doing really well.
Their profits went up 50% last year, a terrible economy year for most companies
