Did anyone "lose" their laptop in the mail?

It's been over 10 days since I ordered an NP5135 from XoticPC via USPS Express, and I kept checking the tracking info and it hasn't been updated since, so this is what I still see right now.

International Dispatch, December 18, 2010, 4:54 pm, ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS)
    Arrival
Processed through Sort Facility, December 17, 2010, 4:11 pm, CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA 91715
Acceptance, December 17, 2010, 1:37 pm, ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA 91748

I have contacted XoticPC and they told USPS to start an investigation, but I highly suspect that it has been stolen, because I saw in a review that these laptops ship in one of those Sager laptop boxes which I think is completely stupid since any postal worker would have realized that it is an expensive item that they might want to snatch. Perhaps this is all my imagination, but so far this experience has been very frustrating and makes me regret that I didn't go with UPS instead.

Is "Acceptance" the same as "Delivered"?

Did USPS say anything about it yet?

Acceptance probably just means that the package was picked up by the USPS or that information about it has been "accepted". And no, I haven't heard anything from them. They say that the investigation can take up to 6 business days.

I live in Canada. Never used express mail before, but it shouldn't take this long IMO.

But shouldn't the tracking atleast say "entered Canada Customs" or something at all? It hasn't updated for 10 days.

I doubt it, since I don't think US Customs would want to hold onto an exporting item for that long.

Often the tracking for USPS stops at the US border - mine did not have any sort of tracking once it entered the UK, so it might just be normal. Saying that, hopefully the investigation will either hurry them up or find your laptop.

you can try calling your local USPS near your place, they will track it down and should provide you some answers. that almost happened to me (i used UPS and international delivery) only 2 days and it arrived in our customs office.

USPS tracking isnt the best at providing info. ive had stuff delivered that still said it was sitting at the sort facility.
