    ...speculation only.

no hard proof that there will be one.... but its quite possible with Clevo's previous years at CeBIT.

And you have to realize that even if they debut a new model at CeBIT... it WILL NOT be ready for shipments or orders until late Summer/early Fall.

So waiting might not be worth it... especially since technology will always progress... which would make you wait forever.

Nope, no one's said that. What has been said is that, if Clevo has a successor for the D901C in the works, the most likely place for it to be unveiled at CeBIT - emphasis on the "if" in that statement, as in "if I had wings, I could fly without an airplane" - a perfectly true statement that, alas, will never, ever be factually true ('less, of course, I keep my nose clean and get to go upstairs rather than downstairs when I pass :D).

Rumors only, but it would be nice!
Even if they did reveal a successor you probably would not be able to get your hands on one for a while but a thinner chassis and a backlit keyboard would be very welcome, and I also almost forgot a HDMI port!
But then again I am a dreamer.

Core i7 would be the ultimate upgrade right now. I would sell my home for the new chipset, screw HDMI!

Myself I would love to see on the follow-up of the D901C the following :

    • Two e-sata ports
    • A Intel Gigabit chipset with VMDq support
    • a TPM 1.2 chipset option

If...if there is a successor in the planning stage now, to be revealed at 2009 CeBIT, I would bet very good money that this hypothetical successor is going to run i7 processors - why else would Clevo design the D901C's successor other than for i7 processors? Anything less would just be an intra-model revision.

In terms of wish-lists, a backlit keyboard would be a very nice option, provided it wasn't too garish - just enough light to make it easier to type when I'm the only person up at 2am in a too-small-by-far NYC apartment.
