I really don't see a major difference between the two. Is there some really big performance difference between the two?

Also how do these two deal with cooling? I plan on running games like Starcraft 2 on a fairly high setting. Will the laptops get really hot?

You can do a quick search. There are a number of threads for this question, as well as the owner's lounges.

The big performance difference comes from the higher GPU options, which are available to the NP8150. One you buy to be 'as-is', while the other gives you high-end options.

You should choose the NP8150 + the upcoming 6970M, unless your budget is really tight.
