    Hi friend,

    I want to know that, what is the difference between Centrino and others like AMD, Dual core and etc.

    What are the advantages of Centrino.

    Because i have a Centrino Notebook laptop. Also i don't have that much knowledage about laptops. Kindly explain to me and i will appreciate it if you guys teach me tips and tricks about laptops.

    Basically it's the platform (combination of processor+chipset+WLAN) that Intel has wikipedia link for your reading horror

    It was launched in 2003(codenamed carmel):
    Pentium M (Banias core)+i855+PRO/Wireless 2100

    Updated in 2005(codenamed sonoma): your computer is
    Pentium M (Dothan core)+i915+PRO/Wireless 2200/2915

    Updated again in 2006,2007,2008

    Now, the 5th generation Centrino platform named 'Centrino 2' is out.


    Specific advantages are quite debatable, but it is hard to deny that Centrino is a well rounded package.
