Hi, Im planning to purchase the M860TU at Eurocom but wondering if I should wait for them to release the M860ETU? What is the difference between these modules and which came first? Which is the better one? How come Eurocom and XoticPC have only the M860TU?

M860ETU has already been released... I'm sure Eurocom offers them. The basic difference between the two is that the M860ETU supports quad-core processors and comes with the Nvidia gtx 260 videocard.

Hmm, I guess Eurocom simply didnt change the name..because you can configure with quad core and gtx 260.

Speaking of GTX 260, in the Clevo 2.0 guide, they mention not to use this graphics card in the M860TU (because of heat I think). So why does Eurocom and XoticPC offer this as an option if its not recommended? Is it an issue that has been worked out?

M860ETU isn't really the official name; the "E" was added at the end by people because of the M570ETU, which officially received the "E" after the video card upgrade (9800gtx to tx 280)

the E in ETU for both M860TU and M570TU was for support of quad-core CPUs.

... not videocards (since they all can use the same videocards).

Most vendors do not add the "E" since the notebook is still physically the same (and not want to confuse the masses)... just has quad-core support.

Thanks Gophn. Now I just need to start a thread about whether or not I should get a Quad of 2.0 or a Duo of 2.8!

On the Clevo site there is shown also a "M865TU" and looking at the spec sheet it is absolutely the same at the M860TU. So what is this 865 thing?

please read the Clevo Guide (under Deciphering the Model Number)

and search for the answer.... I am tired of answering the same question.
