    Hi all,

What are the chassis differences between these 2 models, does anybody know? Is the cooling vastly different or anything like that?

    Thanks

P670SA has a 4th gen CPU and a 900M series video chip. The P670RS has a 6th generation CPU and a 1000 series video chip. The latter is more powerful, but the design is very much the same (some of the older P650/670 models had a plastic bottom case, while current models have an alluminum case).

Haven't opened one up just yet to see how the cooling system has changed, if at all.

The P670RS is going to have superior thermals. Both the CPU and GPU run cooler than the P670SA, in addition to the chassis' overall cooling design being superior.

In what way superior, any idea? Just curious, as unsure whether to buy a new p670rs-g with a 1070 or a MSI gt72 chassis with a 1070 in it...

    Thanks

The two clevo models you are comparing are two separate generations, I would not even consider the sa with Pascal GPUs out. The p670rs-g has one of the best cooling solutions for a chassis of its size. The msi is a good deal thicker. The new p670rs-g has 2 fans dedicated to the GPU and another fan for the CPU. The GPU has 3 copper heat pipes, while the CPU has 2 and there is a 6th heat pipe connecting the GPU heatsink to the CPU heatsink. It's a pretty good setup. Most other laptops use 2 fans.
