Please post and let me know if you know the major differences between the 9170 and 9270 models thanks!
-
-
The 9270 is cancelled. It used a desktop chipset.
-
Are you serious? It's cancelled?
wow -
I just saw it ships mid may on xoticpc's website so it wasnt even out yet sorry for asking this question thus it could be a possiblity that it was offed *shrug*
-
The 9270, if released again, use desktop sandy/ivy bridge E processors and can support 2 graphics cards in sli/xfire as opposed to the one in the 9170.
-
Excuse you? It's still on the Sager website, and nobody in the P270WM owner's lounge has heard of this.
And you're a troll if you don't provide a source. -
If by cancelled you mean delayed. Don't start rumors unless you can back them up, please.
-
Cancelled !! O my.
@johnnyFlash (Professor snape says)-- "reveal your secrets". Or would you prefer --- expelliarmus. But jokes aside ( I am sure no one laughed) , sources plz. -
Just search the forum or check the owner's lounge.
-
The owner's lounge says delayed, not cancelled. Except, of course, the recent cross-reference to your above post saying it's cancelled. But I think that's a bit too circular to count as evidence
-
Failure rates were much too high, so it's being redesigned. That particular model is dead. We're splitting hairs here though, the bottom line is that it's not going to be available for awhile.
-
@JohnnyFlash -- I quite surely hope you are not doing a "Rita skeeter" here. C
-
You're talking like you work for clevo, and your location says, "Canada"? We're going to need better sources than being told to "Search the forums and the owner's lounge." Now, please clarify (with sources) or go away.
-
GEEGEE NO RE
-
Like I said, in the owner's lounge and here.. Delayed does not equal canceled. There were some stability issues, they delayed the full scale launch to work those out. Unless you can post something other than yourself saying stuff, ie... messages from resellers, something from clevo itself, please stop fear-mongering. I can back up what I'm saying with direct emails from the company I pre-ordered mine through, those were posted in the owner's lounge for everyone to read.
-
Thats correct, this model was just delayed and not cancelled. We are working with Clevo to get this model out to everyone as soon as possible and we completely understand what kind of long and somewhat meandering journey its been =)
-
On the Owner's lounge, someone just said that myth told them that it's not cancelled.
-
This is correct. The NP9270 is not cancelled but has been delayed.
Concerning the differences between the NP9170 and the NP9270 I will try to put it as best as I can (NP9270 may be subject to specification changes)
NP9270 offers:
Hex-core desktop CPU (some resellers MIGHT offer octo-core Xeon CPU)
3x 2.5-inch hard drive bays
dual GPU (SLI)
NP9170 offers:
Core i7 Quad core processors
Single GPU only (AMD or nVidia)
2x 2.5-inch hard drive bays
1x mSATA SSD (caching or standard SSD) -
I guess he went away...
-
Johnny Flash,
Where'd you get your info? Massively delayed seems to be the case - http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...evo-p270wm-owners-lounge-131.html#post8492367 -
Massive troll is massive.... if you notice he hasn't come back.
-
I hope he sees it, and does come back. I wanna know where he got his info, although I doubt he would tell.
-
I think "going back to the drawing board" on the motherboard, plus the fact it's removed from all the re-sellers' pages qualifies as cancelled.
-
Amen.
-
Mayhaps but that wasn't out at the time he posted.
-
Bump so more people can gawk at the troll
And the P270WM is still on Mythlogic's site. -
Everyone needs to take a second and breathe.
Honestly, why the hostility? Whether I'm right or not, it doesn't really warrant that kind of a response. If I've offended anyone, I apologize.
FYI: I'm Canadian, but I've lived in Asia for the last 4 years. -
Johnny,
No hostility on my part, but you still haven't answered my questions. Did you talk to someone in the know? What gives? -
You Canadian's are everywhere
Canceled or delayed, it'll definitely be a while before it returns full handed.. -
I don't have anything concrete, just thing's I've heard from third parties. They do tend to usually be right, but I wouldn't stake anything important on it. All I had heard, is that the board designed was scrapped and was going to be redesigned. That's what I meant by cancelled. I did clarify that in the next post.
I hadn't checked this thread for a while (I usually just stay in the M15x forum), and was surprised at the direction things went.
I'm thinking of getting one too, so I'm hoping with everyone else it gets sorted out. But it's better that they fix it now, instead of a recall. -
It's too bad he was right that particular model is cancelled. It doesn't matter if it's on a reseller/builder's site, if Clevo(ODM) says they're going back to the drawing board then it's not shipping for a long time.
-
Out of curiosity, if it ships by mid-June is that consider cancelled?
-
This is kind of semantics I guess. The wording I recall from the clevo statement was something like "going back to the drawing board on the motherboard." If what we're going to get when this is all said and done is a redesigned motherboard I could see that being thought of as a different laptop. It depends on the scope of the changes, but I am led to believe this will be rather severe.
Also, is it known for a fact that when it's re-released it will still be called the P270WM? I don't know the answer to that (I actually don't know the logic behind the numbers/letters) -
Yes, funny we all are speaking the same language, but each take away different ideas.
To me, if it still supports the core components: SLI/CrossFire, LGA 2011, 32GB of RAM, USB 3.0, 2 - SATA III, 2 - SATA II, and 17" LCD, then this is *not* a brand new laptop, but rather a 2nd edition in which they tweaked a few things in order to gain stability.
On the other hand, a cancellation would mean it never sees the light of day, or the specs change drastically from the "core" listed above. That would mean it is cancelled.
FWIW, the x7200 had 2 Editions, of which the mobo was changed to add features. No one was came out and said the x7200 was cancelled. It was not a brand new laptop, but rather second edition.
