I saw this question asked and unanswered in a longer thread and now its buried.

The gist of it was how do you tell which screen is on your notebook upon receiving it? The NP9170 currently has 3 choices

    A) Standard Glossy
    B) 72% NTSC Color Gamut Matte
    C) 90% NTSC Color Gamut Glossy

Obviously if you order a Matte screen and is is delivered with a Matte screen you ASSume it is the correct 72% screen. How do you verify this? I assume you can't really tell with the naked eye unless you had the 2 screens side by side with the same image.

Is there a website where you can check it? Do you need a Calibration tool?

The question also covers the Glossy screens if you paid for the 90%, how do you know its 90% if you have never seen these notebooks in person. Is there a part number to look for or something denoting the LCD type?

It would be nice to be able to verify as mistakes happen with even the most well intentioned vendors. The reason I ask is I ordered a Glossy screen on another system and it came in with a Matte screen, that's an obvious "This is not what I ordered" situation. I called the reseller they agreed to replace the Matte with the glossy I ordered no big deal. However if it came down to telling the Regular glossy vs the 90% NTSC glossy...................
