I've been doing some research on the 5760. I've noticed people have been giving different weights. Some will say 9.6lbs, others are 8.35lbs, even though they'll have the exact same configuration. Just concerned because that 1.5lbs could make or break the deal. Can anyone give me an accurate weight?

Also, I was wondering what the lid was made out of? It looks like brushed aluminum, but it might just be very good quality plastic.

I've found some great prices on www.rjtech.com. Does anyone have any experience buying from them? They seem to have a good rating on resellerratings, but they haven't had a review in over 6 months.

This laptop is in the final 3 of my desktop replacement quest. Its all between the Sager 5760, Gateway NX860XL, and the Asus W2PB. I've been saving for almost 3 years, and with the C2D's out, seems like the right time to buy. What do you guys think? Help me out.

    sneek,

I just bought a barebones kit for the M570u from rjtech. Everything seems to be going well thus far, I'm scheduled to get it delivered today, assuming UPS didn't get lost or drive a fork lift over the package.

I emailed and spoke to Richard at RJTech, as I had a few questions about their policies. They were very helpful and courteous. I would recommend them.

RJTech is an excellent vendor; see their page on ResellerRatings:
    http://www.resellerratings.com/store/R_and_J_TECH
There are several RJTech customers on these forums and I've heard nothing but positive comments.

The lid is made out of aluminum.

The Asus W2 isn't a good competitor to the Sager, because it is not a gaming-oriented machine. It has far less 3D power. I wouldn't put it in your comparison. The Gateway NX860XL is a fast machine and will give you more performance for your dollar than the Clevo, but understand that the Clevo offers a higher-end design, will feel more solid, and has higher performance. There's nothing wrong with the Gateway, but it is a budget notebook while the Clevo is not. It's like comparing a Ford Mustang to a . . . BMW. Sure, the Mustang is a great buy and is fast, but the BMW is a more solid car and looks better, and is much more high-end.

The correct weight is 9.4 pounds with the battery but not counting the AC Adapter.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I appreciate it. After doing a lot of price calculating, the sager 5760 is probably going to be the one I'm going to choose. I'll keep you guys updated and let you know how it goes.
