So.. I have a UXGA screen and HD DirecTV but no tv tuner in my sager so:

    a. what tv tuner do you guys recommend

    b. anyway to just plug the thing in from my receiver and not get a tuner? I know it has HDMI, but if i convert that to VGA that will just take the visual and not the audio right?

    thankeys mucho

Edit: the receiver has USB (in or out im not sure, maybe both?), digital audio, s video, composite, analog and HDMI outs. yuup

Holy cow... all that these usb tv tuners have is coaxial input.. who the hell uses that anymore? AND they call them HD! LOL! Like people are going to use them only for picking up broadcast tv. I doubt ANYBODY would do that, and people that do need to go back to the 70's, before cable was invented.

So can somebody find me a tv tuner with an HDMI input please? its like, I'm the first person to think of it... it doesn't exist....

Don't know about HDMI, but here http://www.kworld.com.tw/product_overview.aspx?P_id=50#1 is a USB adapter that can take S-video and RCA inputs as well as coaxial. Or this: http://www.kworld.com.tw/product_overview.aspx?P_id=128#3
