I've replaced my old KTP Elantech drivers on my NP2090 with the Synaptic driver because of the lack of sensitivity the KTP drivers had. However, one huge fault with the Synaptic drivers is that I can't seem to find an option to disable tapping. I find tapping a useless, cumbersome, and unpredictable feature on my laptop, and the "features" it gives is hardly to my benefit. Does anyone else have the Synaptic drivers rather than the Elantech drivers the Sager driver disc comes with, and if so, can you turn off tapping?

You should be able to go to CONTROL PANEL, MOUSE, DEVICE SETTINGS under mouse properties, and bring up the Synaptics Configuration, which should include tapping characteristics.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but the original question remains. I've installed a 250GB hard drive on my laptop and I decided to install the Synaptic drivers, which I find to be much more precise and smooth than the Elantech KTP drivers. However, I still can't find the option for tapping, as the same menu that AKAJohnDoe put up has a LOT more options than what is on my menu. I can only see "Overview" and "Buttons". I don't see any other options in the list. Any help? The tapping "feature" I find, is NOT a feature but a cumbersome inconvenience.

To get to the screen as shown in my prior post, select the PS/2 Mouse in the CONTROL PANEL list and then SETTINGS. You can also activate the System Tray icon on this Control Panel screen, which is essentially a shortcut to the Synaptics configuration and setup.

I can get to the same menu that you managed to open, but my mouse isn't registered as a Synaptics Touchpad, which I suspect is the reason why I don't have all the options you have in the control panel. Strange, you also have an IFL-90, right? If that's the case, I can't see how my IFL-90 would somehow be incompatible with the drivers despite having the same hardware.

Do you remember the process in which you installed your drivers? Do you also have a link to good Synatpic drivers, I fear I might have installed a bad copy, perhaps or an outdated one.
