I'm trying to secure (insofar as it's possible) my NP8150 from theft, so I installed a tracking program, but that doesn't help if someone can just boot from USB and reformat my computer.

I talked to one of the resellers, and they said that it's not possible to disable booting from removable media in the BIOS, so I'm wondering if there's a way to obtain that functionality?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You may already know this but have you considered Intel Anti-theft technology. Your CPU supports it.

You should also be able to go into the BIOS and under the Boot Options, you can disable devices to boot from.

I don't see any options to disable boot devices in the BIOS; all I can do is change the boot order.

For the time being, I've just set the computer to require a BIOS password at boot time, though it's not the most elegant solution.
