I got a NP9150 and noticed a very annoying problem with the on screen visual notifications when you turn on caps lock, num lock, scroll lock, etc.; it steals focus away from whatever program you are typing in briefly when the on screen visual indicator pops up. This interrupts typing and causes words and sentences to break up whenever focus is lost.
I couldn't find a way to disable these pop ups without completely uninstalling the hot keys drivers. But this is a problem.. because now I can't seem to access the control panel w/ the function keys and customize things like my keyboard backlight color.

Does Sager write these drivers themselves? It seems like it would be a simple fix.
Who do I have to get into contact with to have this little patch written into the drivers? -
You can contact Sager if you want. Sent them a email they might help you out -
Did anyone here ever find a solution to this problem. My new 9370 is doing it...really annoying. Emailing Sager is a waste....the tech I'm dealing with says he never heard of anything like this ever happening and hasn't even responded in days....real lousy service sadly to say.

I think some of the newer hotkey program versions allow you to disable the OSD.
However, I can't get any newer version to work at all on Server 2012 (P150SM) (" System needs to be restarted again. Make sure all driver is installed").
The only hotkey.exe version that will work on my system is 6.0.0.75
So I was thinking of maybe modifying the hotkey.exe to remove the images used for the num/caps/scroll lock OSD, but it looks like it can't be done in resource hacker. Maybe someone who knows how to use IDA can do it. -
While the little display pops up for disabled/enabled for me, I have noticed that it does not take away focus from whatever application/window currently has focus for me.
As an example, while typing this, I've hit caplock, scroll, numpad, and can continue to type in this window just fine.
Are you sure the focus issue is still there? -
The issue is whenever the OSD pops up, I cannot click on anything underneath it. I have to wait a few seconds for it to disappear, then I can click on whatever is underneath.
On most browsers, it pops up right over the navigation/refresh buttons. -
I have Hotkey ver. 6.0100 on my laptop. What I do to turn off the pop-ups is - I right-click on the Hotkey icon in the system tray and just uncheck K/B Indicator.
-
6.0100 just gives me: "System needs to be restarted again. Make sure all driver is installed."
And the only versions I've found which work don't have that option. -
Have you checked these websites for example?:

I think Clevo just have not tested it with server 2012, at all. -
I recently received my new Clevo laptop (P170SM chassis) and was also a bit frustrated by the popups for CAPS/NUM/SCROLL lock. However I have found that having the "control centre" open (open by pressing Fn-ESC) seems to prevent the popups appearing.
As an added bonus, previously, pressing CAPS-LOCK while playin CRYSIS escaped the game to the menu screen so I couldn't assign caps lock to a game function, however this has also been resolved by having the control centre running in the background.
Hope this helps.deadsmiley likes this. -
I was searching for a solution for this problem as well. I have noticed that while most games block these on-screen notifications, some others still display them, I wonder why. It's annoying when it happens since I normally run with Caps Lock, so it's a key I press all the times and I don't want to see the notification every few seconds.
Having the Control Center open, as explaind by the poster before me, fixes the issue, however I was wondering if the new Clevos have some more proper way of handling this? -
You can also edit the oem.ini file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hotkey
