I noticed that two or three days ago that the Clevo 650HS-G disappeared from a few sites, such as HIDevolution, XoticPC, AVADirect, and even the Sager site itself. Does anyone know why? Do you think they've pulled them in preparation for a new 8th gen Intel CPU model? Because as of right now, I'm only seeing either the slim and light model or the giant desktop replacement model on many sites.

P650HS-G has fan issue caused by the EC, and so far there has been no fix. Custom fan mode pulses the cpu fan, auto takes forever to ramp down which annoys most users even if the gpu is <40c, it takes around 15 minutes. AFAIK others clevos have noisy fans but not as horrid as this one (usually only hardware design like noisy fans/bearings)
XMG stated that they will not provide a fix, even though they did with the P650RS-G, it takes so effort and hacking to fix as clevo itself does not care.
It also has the famous clevo heatsink issue on the cpu side, the heatpipe that shares the gpu side and cpu is not often straight and the screw area that mount the cpu copper pad does not provide enough pressure.
IPS option has horrible backlight bleed due to the way the bezels are designed, needs to be modified.
Most of my info comes from obsidian and eluktronics support. (both hid some info but then was revealed from each side)

    Out,
    A very disappointed P650HS user.

This model has been a very successful model, a good seller and liked by multitudes all over. However as normal, sellers are moving to the newest generation so yes the 8th gen. ALL 7th gen models will be gone in a short time. This is how it goes in this business. Sorry.

If you were told this (about the fans) by one of my colleagues, then it'll be more the case that we can't rather than won't. I don't think your post is blaming us, but I just wanted to explain - as were now dealing with multiple fan profiles per system and EC because of the preset fan profiles like AUTO etc it has become increasingly difficult to create manual profiles for the chassis in question. Also when you have 2 CPU options and multiple BGA GPU options you're dealing with 4+ components you ideally should have an EC for every combination of CPU and GPU to get the best result. It was much easier in the past because CCC didn't get in the way quite as much.

As Larry said, it's a best seller and though yes there are some issues with heatsinks etc they can be managed to an extent, depending on who is building the systems.

The P6XX is no more. Most likely there will be PA5X or something similar.

Would never blame a company that does not overlook details and provide the fix in the public, not to mention that you don't cover up the flaws.

Really hope it doesn't have a horrible heatsink with these new hot hex cpus.
IMO nothing beats Gigabyte Aero 15x v8 due to screen and battery

WAHT!! No, I was about to buy this very laptop around ~May, please don't tell me it's discontinued. I don't have another good GTX 1070; 120Hz; free thermal paste upgrade option this cheap AND this good. Or please tell me a newer P650 model will soon be announced/released! :(((
