This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Are their any resellers that offer a discount for forum members? Naturally, I want to spend as little as possible to get the laptop I want to get. I am thinking a P750DM with a 980m (unless the 1080m comes out soon), 64GB RAM, 512GB Samsung 950 Pro, etc.

    HIDevolution offers a nice discount for NBR forum members

    Additionally, their Clevo laptops are now branded as EVOC (Evolution Overclock) and all sport the Prema BIOS/VBIOS for free so that's an extra cost saving. I had to pay $200 USD for the Prema BIOS when I purchased my P870DM from Eurocom for example.

    Secondly, they offer components not available from other resellers like a CPU Delidding service to lower the CPU temps by up to 15C without voiding your warranty. If you delid the CPU yourself, the warranty is void. They also offer Silicon Lottery binned CPUs for guaranteed high overclocks if you are willing to spend a bit more although these machines are fully upgradable so you don't need to max out the specs when ordering.

    Also, their RAM options are not restricted to the slow 2133 MHz that most resellers offer, they have speeds of 2400 MHz, 2666 MHz, and 2800 MHz, and even 3000 MHz. upon special request although the 2800 MHz. and 3000 Mhz. are only compatible with the P870DM.

    Email them with the config that you want and tell them you are an NBR forum member to get your discount.

    Finally, their warranty covers shipping cost both ways for US and International Customers, although the latter must opt for a Global Warranty rather than the standard warranty.

    Generally, company reps aren't allowed to talk about prices, discounts, promos, etc... in the forums. So you would want to reach out to them directly to find out if a discount is offered.

    Most of the companies that sell laptops mentioned/reviewed/advertised here offer various discounts, including a NBR member discount. Simply get in touch with them and ask.
