This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Display Driver Stopped Responding...

    ... and has Recovered.

    Been getting that a few times on the M980NU.

    Installed the newest drivers for the 280M from nVidia. I've even uninstalled and installed the driver, and it's still happening. Anybody have any suggestions?

    I'm probably going to try going back to an older driver later tonight and see if that works.

    try cleaning the old driver in safe mode with driver cleaner pro before loading it again.

    According to this, that wasn't a permanent solution.

    Anyway, I downgraded drivers back to the default one that Pro-Star gave me, we'll see if it still happens.
